Dear Diary,
Last night I had dinner with Barry Watters at the Four Seasons Supper Club. Audrey Tatellio invited us to join her because it was her first date with a guy named Phil Montzuma. He seemed like a nice enough sort, saying that he also planned to go for his masters degree in law at Queens College near the home he purchased over there in Queens.
Audrey got her hair cut at the Carnegie Hill Spa that morning and I thought it looked really cute, but I had to bite my tongue when Phil criticized her saying he preferred long hair. I gather he saw her Wednesday night before she had the hair cut. Not the best way to make ground on a first date.
Barry's now working for Genovese Construction Inc. over at the new refinery project in New Jersey. It's just a summer job that will give him a nice income and since he's taking business classes they gave him a job assisting the bookkeepers.
We decided to go to the movies after dinner and invited Phil and Audrey to come along, but Phil seemed to have other plans, asking Audrey over to his new place instead. I gather she turned him down since it was their first date. I can understand her concerns because Phil was really pushing the envelope.
Barry took me to see the new production of The Omen, a terrifying movie that had me huddled up in his arms most of the night. Barry sure didn't seem to mind that at all. Good movie, worth the price of admission.
