This Week's Gossip
Last Sunday morning turned out to be a disaster. I awoke a bit dazed, not even remembering exactly what happened Saturday night. I know I invited Felix up for a nightcap which he prepared while I finished my gossip column and faxed it in to the Times. After that it became a haze and I'm still not sure if it was just a dream.
I slipped into my running gear and hurried off to meet Rachel for our morning run in Central Park. She'd already read my Sunday gossip column and was drilling me on what might have happened with Felix. I had to say I wasn't quite sure, but he had left his calling card.
It wasn't until I got back home to shower and dress for our brunch that I realized I'd been robbed. Somebody had opened my safe and taken all my jewelry and about four hundred dollars in cash. Had Felix drugged my wine and then robbed me? Or had a thief been watching close and slipped in after Felix left?
I called the Plaza Hotel security, the police, and finally Diego at his home before heading down to the Palm Court to meet with Rachel. My surprise later in the week was receiving a package with no return address that included all my stolen jewelry. What the hell's that all about?
Wednesday evening I sat in my normal back row seat and watched Rachel's Friends play. They all did a nice job up there on stage and we all laughed a lot at the adlibs. Jack McClennan returned as Joey and brought the house down with a clever post to Kate as Mrs. Green near the end of the play. Joey kissed Mrs. Green goodnight but also slipped his thigh between her legs. She was shocked to say the least!
Rachel said she met a Phillip Montzuma at the Four Seasons Supper Club on Wednesday night. He sort of hit on her, but backed off when Rach told him she's currently dating Manhattan Councilman, Mike Miller. It didn't take him long to shift his attention to Rachel's sister, Audrey who walked in a few minutes later. Turns out Audrey accepted a dinner date with Phil for Thursday night. Apparently, they're both studying law, so they can see who wins that little game.
On Saturday night Diego and Mike Miller took Rachel and me to see The Omen, then to Del Posto for dinner. Rachel said that her sister seemed a little upset after her dinner date with that Phil fellow. Audrey told her Phil didn't like her new hair cut and was a little disappointed when she wouldn't go over to his place in Queens to watch movies. She's afraid she may have lost a guy that she sort of liked, particularly since they both plan to studying law.
We dropped Rachel and Mike off at her place, then Diego spent the night at my place. We agreed to skip our morning run on Sunday and meet for brunch in the Palm Court later. Diego always keeps a change of clothing in my place. I assume Mike does the same at Rachel's.

This Wednesday night, June 14th at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's version of Will & Grace - My Fair Maid. It should be fun and I will be sitting in my center seat in the back row watching to see who might show up and who sits with whom.
