Message from the Bear Cave
« on: December 13, 2006, 03:34:23 PM »
Well, I finally have a diagnosis for my knee condition, which is now in BOTH knees, which means, I'm a very very grumbly bear.

The PLUS is that it's treatable without surgery, though that is the ultimate answer, although I'm told I'm too young for the surgery.  WTF?   I have to be like 70-ish and dragging myself in a wheelchair?  But yeah, too young.  So, in the meantime, I have bought stock in the manufacturers of glucosamine and chondroitin supplements, and --- after the holidays --- will be on a very strict diet that Tony had been on for his gout.  This lovely condition is gout-like in behavior and fills my knees with pretty little crystals of uric acid.

Last night, watching one of my favorite shows -- "House", I threw my pillows at the TV telling them to give the man his vicodin!  Dammit!  And me too.  :(

Some days the pain isn't too terrible, which pleases my boss.  ~lol~  He has faced the Wrath of Rattt too many times during this ordeal.

And dear Tony has given me a surprise for Christmas, which, isn't a surprise anymore coz I had to make sure I could get some time off, plus do the driving to the airport, but ----------- my youngest daughter is coming home for Christmas.

Except she's preggers and pukey.  And I'm grumbly and gimpy.  What a fine pair, yes?

I think I may need to find Tony a temporary home for that week Amanda is home.

Anyway, I've been trying to get myself back into the whole roleplay thing.  I'm finding it hard to do on many levels.  Then again, I can't seem to bear more than a few minutes sitting at my desk lately before I have to shut down my computer and curl up with my ice packs and Alleve bottle and the handy dandy massager I got for my birthday and jars of Icey Hot that stink up the place .... and begin the battle of trying to get in at least two hours of sleep before the new day arrives.

Just in case I don't make it back on before the holidays, I wish everyone a wonderful holiday season, be it Chanuka, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or whatever "holiday" is celebrated.

May everyone enjoy a time of peace and joy.

With love,
the bear xoxoxoxoxo

Greetings Cherished KISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

That news sucks regarding your knees... but anymore i does seem that many surgeries for conditions become age related, and the only time you can get things fixed is when you are too old to be able fully appreciate the fix.

Hopefully now that the condition has been identified, there may be more alternatives involving medications that will be of use in staving off the more debilitating affects for a time.

Great to hear your daughter will be able to join you for the Holiday!!! And, Congratulations "Grammy". LOL *ducks*

Time to kickback on the bed with a laptop or some roleplay. Good things are planned for January that should bring back some of the fun and the family that Tuchuk has been known for in the past... as well as the potential for new life and new growth. Everything runs in cycles... and this is to be expected. I may have to evict you from the trunk this time and make you get busy! *W*

Hopefully I shall see you before the Holidays, but if not, Happy Holidays my cherished. *S* *huggers* KISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

One day... some way... no doubt during Christmas Break... I -will- give you the run-down on my life!  I love you!

Living in the land of sun, sand, and Thassa breezes, where the only rule is common sense.  What's not to love?

Knees are feeling about 80% better, which is lovely coz now i can sleep without twisting and tossing and turning a kazillion times in the night and actually get more than a culminated total of 45 minutes sleep for the entire night.  And now that it's cold and we've (finally) had (a tiny bit) of SNOW, this helps on the sleeping ability (it really sucks to have to run our A/C on during the *#(&@% winter!).

Had a great visit with my daughter; drove her nuts, she drove me nuts, we drove Tony nuts, he drove us nuts.  :D    It was an insane trip to the airport to send her home (she forgot her purse at my house).  Lucky she was that i live only 20 minutes from the airport and traffic was non-existent that morning!

i've been able to spend more time sitting up at my desk, and managed to start some major changes and renovations of my website.

my Cherished --- i have popped on to find camp empty :(   i would love to take part or at least make an appearance, but y'all start too darn late for me.   The bear is old and crawls to bed early these days in hopes of getting at least 2 hours sleep until i have to get up to go to work.

i'm not sure i'll make it to this years Gathering.  Depends on when i'll be flying out to visit my daughter and her baby; she's due sometime in June, so if i don't fly out then, it'll likely be early autumn.  It also depends on my knees and if i can handle the drive.

And in between all that, fighting a cold that has returned to haunt me, the bear is muddling along ....

~leaves hugs n' smooches n' bear lix~

KISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Glad to hear the knees are somewhat better!!!

My cherished may have all the snow from here. Bring a shovel and have at!!!

Glad to hear the "family" drove one another nuts without any homicides or severe ER trips. *G*

Empty? What room has my Cherished been looking at? We just came off two weeks of good migration, and before that a week of preps, and before that two weeks plus of Forest Event, plus additional events, and, and, and, etc.....

The Gathering is a must!!! Babies and Daughters last a lifetime... the Gathering is only once a year. Fold them knees up and just do it. *W* LOL

Keep muddling along. Will stuff some cold meds in the trunk for my cherished.
