Missing in Action
« on: January 13, 2007, 02:43:48 PM »
Tal to everyone,

I'm sorry that I haven't been around or haven't posted anything of myself in some time.  If good intentions were worth a nickle, I'd be plenty wealthy by now.

I think I mentioned back in July that I had made partner with my firm.  It's been a wonderful but crazy-busy adjustment and I'm thankful my paralegal is top-notch and keeps me organized.

Last summer, having spent time the wilds of the west on vacation with my husband and children, I returned and was handed a rather seemingly nothing-out-of-the-ordinary case.  Several months later, the case absolutely not of the ordinary and evolving into a major case, having impacted me on several counts.  It consumed most of my time, days, nights, weekends.  But it was well worth it.

Then sadly, a dear friend of mine of some 20+ years recently retired from her law practice and moved away to be close to her children.  Some may know her from Gor --- Quierra. She is quite ill, and I've taken what free time I have had to fly out and spend time with her.  It's taken quite a toll to watch someone that is like my sister, is godmother to my children, and is absolutely my very best friend, deteriorate so rapidly.  I'm going to be taking some time off from work within the next few weeks and fly out to spend about a month with her.

Once I return I hope then to be able to find some time for some online R&R.  I need it!

Respectfully,
amore {MTC}

I have missed you, amore... I am sorry to hear of Quierra's decline. ~soft sigh~

Although I have never met you I feel for you, watching someone slip away slowly like that is harder than if it is a sudden lose. I wish you well and hope the you can return to us soon. Be well and may your heart and mind find peace.
