Today, travel began from Camp to the point for supplies. The freight wagons and treasure wagons were all prepared, the Outriders and ASKARI were assembled and the journey began. The weather was cruel...the plains became a wasteland of hot, dry weather with little water to aid us along our journey. The further we moved, the more dust we kicked up. The combination of the heat, lack of water, and the dust made the first leg of this trip hellacious but we travelled on as we always do.
A couple hours in to our journey, Outriders send word from the Point of skirmishes with raiders and there are casualties on both sides. The further our journey took us, the heavier the reports from the Outriders got. Outriders began riding in with reports. More remains had been found to the west and east of the column. These remains were only Tuchuk remains... picked off by peasant bows before they could even close enough to engage. An Outrider from the point rode in reporting a line of dead Tuchuks leading up to the watering hole. The point Outriders had halted to wait for orders before approaching the watering hole in case it is held by the Raiders.
Raziel ordered reinforcements sent to the Point and then ordered a charge inward. As the advance units drew closer they were able to recognise the blue of Tuchuk ASKARI sashes and standards. There were also bodies stacked up around the watering hole where Tuchuk forces closed in with the enemy and engaged in hand to hand combat to take the watering hole. Once we arrived, we saw Tuchuk ASKARI lay all about the watering hole in varied states of being. Some were badly wounded, while some were simply too weary and hungry to bother moving. They have had water, but no food to speak of... no shade... and worst of all the medical supplies had been exhausted for days.
Once arrived at the watering hole, We decided to set up camp for the night though the Ubar was missing. With so many injured, dead, or weary souls...we had our work cut out for us. Healers handed out rations to the weary Askari and tended to the wounded. Others set up camp while a search party went looking for the Ubar. Before long the call came out the Ubar had been found. He slept at the far side of the watering hole beneath a propped up shield. The tip of a peasant bow's arrow embedded deep in the muscle of his upper left arm... and numerous other injuries sustained in the fighting cover his trimmed down much leaner body. Healers assessed him quickly... and began to clean and dress the numerous wounds. They informed me the arrow tip embedded in his shoulder muscle would have to be tended by a surgeon. They could only try to clean it up and wait.
