Sorry for my absence online on messengers and everything else since Thursday evening, unfortunately, the very old phone lines within my apartment have finally given out, as we had phone service and internet Thursday night, and Friday morning we didn't have either.  Since everyone else in our apartment building has phone service, it appears as though either Beau and I shell out the money for the phone company to fix the phone lines within the apartment, or we disconnect the service and go for cable instead.  So for now, I am at Michelle's house leaving a message to let everyone know that nothing happened to us and that we are just fine, it's just that I guess karma thought we were doing too well and that we needed to be shit on a little.  Hopefully we will be back online soon.

Its up to the tenant to have a phone line and anything really besides electricity and the stuff he pays for.  So in his mind, it's the tenants responsibility to fix whatever is broken.  We now do have internet on my computer.  We have to pick up a router in order to hook up B's computer, and that will come shortly as soon as we figure out what kind we need and so on.  At any rate.  We are going to eat lunch now and then maybe take a nap before we head off to a concert tonight.  See you all around.

It might be up to the tenant to PAY for phone service, and any additional lines they might want.. but I would think that basic phone wiring is the landlords responsibility. 

I mean, you and B aren't disabled or elderly or any of those categories that REQUIRE phone service in an apartment, but if he were to rent that apartment to someone who was, honey, he would have to make damn sure that the lines were good, or the Government assistance programs would be breathing down his neck.

If it is the phone wiring in the house to begin with, I would fight to make sure he fixed it at his expense. If he had faulty electric wiring in your apartment, and you couldn't get your lamps to work, he would be the one who had to tear out the walls and get it right..

Check into it a little deeper before you let him snowball you.

What ever happens and who ever is responsiable just do everyone a big favor and look up the laws in your state.... it might not be worth much right now but you might need that info later down the road....

also if you go with cable wait untill you see a really good deal.... we got instilation for free just cause we waited to get cable for about a month untill our aparpment complex could have it.... we told the guy that we loved their company and only got internet cause we needed it through the crappy company.... and being the nice guy the salesman was he threw in free instalition....
