As I said there was no need to bother replying I really could care less about the place, and I was just to lazy to delete what I had already written.
Shut down, closed, it doesn't matter to me I never go to the place as a matter of fact any interest I had ended some time ago.
Now you have a darned good day ........ or NOT!

I am sorry You find the place as You do.. Too each their own... But I can understand I find many site's not to My liking or un Gorean it just the way things are.. But I don't judge people or homes by the site they live on or frequent.. To Me on every site there Maybe a Gorean.. So lately I tend to try to focus on My actions and not those of others..
I could be on any site and still be Gorean it makes no issue to Me…
I wish You Well

I would say * it is obvious you are not of the old Goreans * nor were you involved prior to the mass exodus away from Webmaze… Brought about by the underhandedness of both Buddha and Ragnar…

Bellows low.
Tis good to see a post from someone I assumed had surrendered to the warnings of his physicians. I hope your beast of the "hat" is equally vivacious. Feels reassured that not all of the old standard has released his astute grip of the gorean situation.

Webmaze exists. Nothing wrong with that, there are those who call WM home who had nothing to do with past events.
That's the thing, what happened is the past, it will not be changed and there is no need for it to be changed. There would be no point now.
The bottom line now is that there were Goreans, even those who did not get along so well, who reacted to events as Goreans, standing for what they believed in. Doesn't much matter how you word it, THAT WAS GOREAN. No big plans were needed, no secret agendas, simply a number of people made their choices for the reasons they felt were proper.
What I miss most of those days was the camaraderie, trust and friendships. Too many people were moving in too many directions and having to put focus into different things. There's no point in debating whether change was good or bad, change is simply that, change. We make of it what we can.

Tal, Hesprit
I thank You for Your words here…They show the wisdoms of a Man who throw the years has earned My respect.. although We may not of seen eye to eye on many issues I do take note that the fact We have always respected each others right to view things as We do.. I thank You for the u2u and I was not part of That time (the time that is being spoken of here) on Maze as I had already left Maze by then. I was of Gorchat or other sites while these actions where being carried out.. Now I am a honest believer that a Man speaks better in His actions and many will note the change in site of My home… NOT of any thing being said here of Issues of this day that just where not met in a timely fashion, or a prudent solution given.. The simple fact is My home called a vote and it was time to leave rather than try to address our needs that where not being met.. A simple Gorean solution was made.. We of Kassars are just that and have no interest in site political battles… its not the site that makes a Gorean it’s the Man and His actions…

Laughs, I am of Red Shield Camp, Kassars, PG.... But still have a paid membership to wm that I guess I'll use for av storage...
being there was a Kassar and a Darkside of Kassar on whochat of PG..I went to the books and came up with a whochat name Red Shield Camp or The Blood People..
The site admin felt The Red Shield Camp was a better name..
I sorta liked them both but made no difference its still Kassars just named that way to clear whochat confussions..
I wish You well

I mean no disrespect to Mi§tral , Petorik or Hesprit.. I simple am stating a site has noting to do with a Home or the Goreans within it..only appling the per set ideals and philiosophies within the books to Our lifes makes Us Gorean or not...
if I am in My car driving to work I am still Gorean.. it makes no matter the car I drive...as long as it runs correctly, LOL
I wish You well

I will not go into great detail on all aspects of this thread, but a few things do need to be addressed.
Certainly there was a falling out at Maze years ago. Looking back, it would have been easier to remain silent instead of making a stand for what was right then... and that remains unchanged to this day. Was it fun or enjoyable? No. But it needed to be done. I suppose it is always easier to just mingle in with a herd than it is to make a stand. There was no underhandedness, no plotting, no agenda, on Buddha's part or my own. There were issues.... I took a stand.... Buddha reviewed the entire matter and made a ruling. That ruling was not flattering to the ringleaders of the herd and they bailed in a hurry followed by the weaker members of the herd who were so used to being led around by the nose it was just natural for them to continue to do so. The rest is history. Of those that left Maze, I do believe that without the hand holding, the special favors, etc.... only one room still remains from those days and that is Turia. All the other rooms died off or simply vanished. Some may have been restarted and restructured, but they were not as they were on Maze. What is done, is done, and though very unpleasant, I would not hesitate to do it all over again were it possible to turn back time.
As far as Gio's needs not being met here on Maze... and I guess that is his reason for leaving... I am not really sure as he, like others, just sneak off and appear on another site overnight. I do ask those who seek to relocate rooms to Maze inform their site they are leaving. It just seems the right thing to do. Whether they always do or not rests upon them.
I feel both Maze and myself went far and above the norm for sites and staff in meeting Gio's needs... as well as the needs of everyone in general. Gio approached me sometime ago regarding moving his room to Maze. We discussed the situation and he decided to do so and work began on his room while he was to inform Pure Gor he was leaving due to their Admin butting in where he felt they should not be, in a nutshell.
The room was created and basics set up. He provided me with an entry which I put in place after discussing Site Policies with him regarding visitors and observers... and he was to purchase the membership required for the room by week's end.
It seems rt must have taken him as the room sat unattended without word from him. I allowed the room to stay open for several weeks until finally, with no word from him, I made the room invisible.
He pops back up and inquires about his room, and informed me RT did in fact take him... but now he was back and wished to proceed. I brought the room back visible within a few minutes and reminded him he would still need to purchase his membership for the room.
Weeks passed and stil no membership... yet the room remained open while we carried him. I understand RT can be nasty at times so he was given the benefit of the doubt and he was trusted on his word to settle up. I got responses of how he had forgot... that the bank was closed... how it was coming on Monday... then the unfortunate passing of a family member. As such is not the time to be demanding monies I let it slide another couple weeks.
WEBMAZE has never been about the money, but a membership is required to show some sort of commitment to operating a room.
Finally a short term membership was purchased, and Gio wished his list of pulldowns added for his room. I asked him to send me the text of what he wanted and I would put them in. He offered to code them all up and I politely declined as it is much easier to simply code pulldowns myself than it is to go through and check the coding done by another. What did I get? Pulldowns coded... the opposite of what was requested.... and coded incorrectly to boot.
Rather than kick them back to him and ask him to resubmit them as they were requested, I did the extra work and put his pulldowns in for him. Finally all seemed well.
About a week or so ago he asked what the requirements were to obtain mod status. He was informed five paid memberships to his room and/or good room traffic that would justify the need for a mod. That was all that was said.
I guess an anon came in and said something unpleasant in his room, so he came into the room passing himself off as ADMIN. As far as I know he made no posts as Admin, but only entered as ADMIN. I had to inform him this was a no-no as that could be seen as impersonating site Admin. I do not remember what was said by the anony so it must not have been anythng drastic or stellar. Most would just ignore it and continue. After all... we are supposed to be adults. As such we just accept some people are challenged in the maturity department and we just ignore them and move on.
As far as meeting the needs of his room, or his needs, Maze and myself went beyond what can be considered the norm. People have to realise there is also such a thing as a two way street. Very lil is asked of room leades or chatters, yet for some reason, some feel it is all about them and to hell with everything and everyone else.
If Gio refers to his needs not being met due to the site being down, Buddha is addressing this matter. Every site will have its issues at some time or another. None are happy when it happens to their site... but rest assured it does happen. Maze was the most stable site for over a decade.... now it is our turn to have problems. This too shall pass and another site or more will have issues. It is just the way of things it seems.
What I can take from this:
Not to take people at their word... as their word and actions seldom coincide.
When requests are made by staff and a room leader fails to meet those requests, do not fix things myself. Kick it back to the room leader and wait until they submit things as requested.
If it involves memberships, get the money first. If service is rendered before payment is collected, there will never be an urgency to settle a debt.
When a room leader disrupts my roleplay to speak with me or make a request, tell them to post it to the support board. Taking time out from my own role play to hold a hand is not appreciated... it is demanded.
When told "X" number of paid memberships are on the way... refer to the first lesson to be taken about taking people at their word.
Will I take these lessons to heart? No. I will not place everyone in the same category as Gioco. I will continue to try and help people and give them a break even when they make my life tougher and don't listen. LOLThats just the way I am.
