The Circle of the Blade

This is an association of warriors that wish to test their skills within the sparring circle against their peers. As they progress they will attain different levels of competence, moving inward through each circle, as they demonstrate higher and higher levels of skill.

To become one of the Circle is an easy thing.
You need only apply to this email with Your Name.
A Warrior's Registration, created by ARES, is also suggested for you, and can be easily filled out.
Go here to do so.
Rarii

All spars will be judged by a judge or judges from the Circle Judge's list. They may be asked to be at the spar, or the spar may be sent to them. Judgments shall be rendered as soon as possible. If for some reason a judge cannot render judgment, then another judge shall be contacted.

All results and the reasons behind them shall be made public... any that are not become invalid. Pages at the website or a message board have been created for this.

Spar pairings are determined by challenge.
This is to say you pick an opponent and have your fight.
A list of Warriors and their level can be found at the following link.

WARRIORS

Points are awarded as follows...
A Win = 5 points
A Tie = 3 points
A Loss = 1 point

To progress to a higher level a Warrior needs to accumulate 20 points.

There are five rings or levels of The Circle.

Circle of the Dagger (All start here)
Circle of the Sword
Circle of the Axe
Circle of the Warrior
Circle of the Weapons Master

All contest and tournament spars will be fought in a circle measuring one ah-ral in diameter, (roughly 15 feet) marked by small stones surrounding it.

As people progress, there will be people upon different levels of the circle, and at that time it becomes possible to challenge someone on a higher level than yourself. If you are to win a spar with one from a higher level, your Point gain is doubled (10 points)... though here a tie is worth nothing (0) and a loss will cost you (-3) One of a higher circle may not challenge someone of a lower ring, so be very careful whom you challenge.

The rules for the Circle of the Blade are those of the Circle, and all spars shall be judged by these and these rules alone.

Sword fighting even in contests and tournaments is a dangerous sport and is prone to injury; all wounds taken here will be deemed to actually happen and must be taken into account.

Note: The circle of the Weapon's Master is suggested as the final level and is only for those warriors, who not only have proven their skill with weapons, but also possess both the ability and desire to teach others. One reaches this level by recommendation, not points, and is entitled to wear the tag Circle Weapons Master.

Note: Once a reasonable number of fighters from each room have reached the Circle of the Warrior level, both individual and team combat challenges can be held with the camp or city itself being represented. Instead of points, a flag, or some such symbol can be created to be placed by the name of the winning room each week to denote who has the best of the best. (Team combat will be a minimum of any two warriors from any level fighting any two warriors from any level from another room) Once we are satisfied with the judging of such matches we can explore different odds, i.e. combinations such as two against three and so forth.

Note: Some of these spars can and will be held during other special events going on at the Circle such as Fairs.

Tournaments held at the Circle will each have their own special rules to fit the circumstances. As in all events of this nature, the Kill/Capture/Collar rules of the Circle are relaxed and will conform to those desired for the duration of the event. Information concerning each event will be posted above as to type, dates and rules.

The Circle is also a place where passing caravans may rest and display their merchandise. Market days may be scheduled for all Merchants and Slavers. Fairs and contests of all kinds may be held to celebrate holidays, seasons, or for no specific reason at all.
