Boycotting
« on: February 10, 2009, 11:10:01 AM »
I'm boycotting Subway until this new Five Dollar foot long promotion is over.  Let me set the scenario here.

Beau and I decided we wanted Subway for lunch.  No big deal, I was already heading over to Walmart to get a new wiper blade, and so I figured I would stop by in the subway we have there in Walmart.  Now I normally get the Black Forest Ham footlong (Five dollars) and add salami to it (2 dollars for double meat on a footlong sandwich).  I go in today, to get what I normally get, and I get told, that in order to have salami on my sandwich, they need to charge me five dollars for a whole other sandwich.  Obviously, this is dumb as all get out, and I tell the Lady that, but she doesn't care.  I end up with just a ham sandwich basically, because I wasn't paying ten dollars for a sandwich when I can go to Walmart and get everything I need for a subway sandwich for less than ten dollars.

Needless to say, I fired off a comment to subway as soon as I got home, because the whole idea of 5 dollar footlongs is to save people money (which is required nowadays with this economy), and instead, Subway is trying to screw over their customers.

I would have gone to another Subway.  However, the same people own both of the subways which are literally (and I am not joking) less than a quarter mile apart.  And we only have two subways without me having to go out of town for lunch.  I just took the ham, and left, fired off an email to Subway about how much this idea sucks, and left it at that.

Dude was only doing his job.

He doesn't make the rules, he makes 6 bucks an hour.  It's the person who makes the policy that is the issue.

I've never had trouble at Subway myself, but all I want is extra cucumber on my sandwich and they happily give it to me.

Oh D I wouldn't have gotten the poor kid at the counter fired, I wouda been way higher up the food chain... like the general manager... or the distric manager...

I have sympathy for those poor kids working, they have enough problems having to enforse the jacked up rules

One thing I've noticed about Wal-Marts in general.  The Fast foods within them, are allowed to operate under different rules.  We have Mc Donalds in ours, and their prices are always hire.  Try a subway away from a Wal-Mart, may have better luck.  Just a thought.
