While interesting to watch, as well as entertaining, this can hardly be accepted as any factually based testing.

They brought in actual Apache who train our military people in hand to hand apashe fighting techniques... then the so called professional computer nerds attach their electronic wizmo gizmos to computer simulate their techniques. This is all fine and good.

Now for the Gladiators. They bring in octagon fighters and martial arts masters.... hand them traditional gladtiator weapons.... most of which they had never seen before, and said here... just hack so we can get the information for our computer testing simulations.

Their findings showed the Gladiators won a third of the scenarios.

In my eyes.... that is not exactly a stellar promotional bellringer for the Apache.

Had they brought in the professionals who have studied and actually demonstrate Gladiatoral combat techniques..... well..... Ol Geronimo would have crapped logs the size of buffalo turds!!!

They did...they even brought in that ancient weapons guy from the series, I forget his name.

Btw...Im sorry to say, Snake Blocker might be Apache, but he doesnt teach apache fighting techniques to the military.  He teaches Military style CQC to students.

The retards operating this show are some seriously stupid shmucks.

The so-called "experts" really don't seem to have a clue how to use most of the weapons. I will admit the Samurai was a bit closer, but the Viking expert couldn't cut his dinner much less handle his weapons in combat.

I have watched alot of exercises with the dane axe, but never have I seen such a poor portrayal of its use. When you saw a Warrior with that axe across the field, you might as well accept the fact he was an elite warrior among his fellows. They were deadly in the hands of these men. He was portrayed in this program as a psycho lumberjack on steroids instead of a trained warrior.

Again, it was interesting to see the results of damage inflicted with the various weapons, but the rest is more entertainment than anything really worthwhile with reguards to reasearch based on historical accuracy.

Knight will be victorious.

If they give the pirate firearms, there may be a slim chance the pirate will win a few scenarious.

Even by modern day ballistic tests.... and yes there have been numerous tests ranging everywhere from backyard testing to controlled scientific testing. Mail with its period padded garment beneath it has always done surprisingly well against firarm projectiles. It would hurt extremely bad, but it could save a life. However... look at the possible layered affects of a knight.

Shield.... plate armor.... chain armor..... padded garment.... flesh.... bone.... then finally vital organ.

Yeah.... fillet o' de pirate anyone?
