A wonderful poem about Marcus and Izee'...
With curling mist surrounding me
I heard his whispered words
A visit from Valhalla
I knew it was for her
His voice was soft but clear
His stories of his past
Some memories he shared with me
From beginning to the last
The early days in wagon camps
The girl he held in chains
A trail of conquered hearts, his boast
Upon those dusty plains
In rapid defeat their love he claimed
Their bodies given freely
His charm and grin temptation’s force
His pleasure taken duly
Tales of love and lust
And one of love’s refrain
A faired hair girl, light of foot
Bound by another’s chains
A scamper through the wagons
His laughter filled the air
His wisdom sought by many
His friendship shared with all
Time rode with turning tides
Shadows rise in silence
With valour’s honour he met the challenge
Misfortune denied its triumph
No more to answer his brave call
Did the dusty plains give counter
Another time, another place
Allegiance torn asunder
With new horizons forged
He paved the way alone
New kinships sound but hollow
Without a place as home
His time was spent in the way of men
While Thassa’s call did beckon
Salvation sought relentlessly
The reward of journey’s end
A remedy of heart his search
Destiny’s guiding light
Deliverance there on a distant shore
One clear and balmy night
The firelight played upon them
They talked until the morn
And when they had awoken
Their new love had been born
He found within her heart, himself
His emptiness now filled
But journey’s end not yet complete
His ache for home not stilled
She forged ahead, her spirit strong
With weapons by her side
A new home he said and it would be
Where she could be his bride
The Gods now weary with journey’s game
The stars aligned to guide her
She rode the waves with firm resolve
Until she found their Scagnar
Friendships revisited and new ones made
Contentment did ensue
But times tested with
Tribulations as all true journeys do
Friendships not readily formed
Sometimes the strongest made
The gift of Home permitted him
The foundation of kinship laid
A man now of the Home
His woman by his side
His lineage then continued
His family he would guide
It came to pass his time complete
And Odin’s call was great
The battle not surrendered
But acceptance of his fate
A star was seen upon a roof
The beacon in the night
A life force testimony
His spirit shining bright
A woman’s heart, a strong man’s home
The gifts they gave to him
Eternally he’d thank them
His cup filled to the brim
Words not said or said in haste
Regret a wasted day
His world completed by Us all
Remember him that way
For it is said with honesty
Within guilt’s pain there dwelt
Insight found and valued
Legacy of lessons dealt
No greater gift bestowed
Than inner growth and love
With pride he whispered tenderly
I see that from above
