...The "American" string quartet

...A very lovely quartet...Dvorak was visiting the US...and the Torvie went back to his home...and wrote this.   :)

My quartet was once coaching HS kids from all over CA... :D...they were playing chamber music...and we would each go to a different room...and listen to the kids...and give them advice.  At the end of the day, they would each perform a part of what they were studying.   ;D  The kids asked us to perform...so that THEY COULD COACH!!!  and we setup...and played the above.   ;D

ALL of the cello kids were standing behind me, looking over my shoulder...as I played.  When we finished the 2nd movement...I heard some sobs...cause of my playing...I had tears in my eyes...too...it is SO YEARNING...and I played it very well...and nodded to the 1st violin...we had done our duet very well...I had buried the warrior with love and dignity.

The mood of the work changes...and I relaxed...and had fun in the last two movements... ;D...I actually 'danced' in my chair at times...and the kids laughed... ;D...I hugged them all after I packed up... ;D
