...In Jr HS, the Spanish Teacher organized a trip into Mexico.

My mother came along as a Chaperone...and I STAYED CLEAR OF HER!!!! It was for 5 days, and was interesting. We visited an orphanage, and I was happy as I handed a wrapped, stuffy bear I had brought with me...(the teacher had told us of what we would see), to a little girl...my Spanish was good enough that we could talk. I still think of her, and pray that she grew up well.
The BEST event was when we all went to a VERY nice restaurant...they put on a nice floor show...and I was astounded at the costumes...and the music...and the FOOD...it was mostly seafood, and there were many courses.

I was MORE astounded when a caucasian man joined us, along with his son...who was our age. He was very enthusiastic, and spoke to the adults, and kids. I tried to speak to the son...but the son didn't talk much.
Later that night, as we were heading to our rooms, I heard my mother laughing her ass off. I asked her why, and she said..."We got charged for two extra meals. Dorothy is FURIOUS!!!

So, if I am down on my luck...and living on the streets...I will look for a large group of kids...and follow them into the restaurant...and maybe get a free meal.
