,,,This is the Vivaldi 'Christmas Concerto'...it is lovely, especially the last movement...so serene. The players are in the 'Baroque' style, watch their bows, they are the lighter 'Baroque' bows, with the tapered tips, and you hold it further up from the frog, The 'Classical' bows are heavier, with the rounded tip, and you hold the bow right at the frog, so you can put more weight there...and sound MUCH louder. Problem I had, was if I held the classical bow at the frog, I could play loud, but couldn't play fast...so I would move my hand up the bow if I had to play fast....which caused problems with control. So, I stuck a large piece of rubber up from the frog, and I could do OK. I finally gave up, one time, we were playing this work, and I just brought out my Baroque Bow. The Conductor was grimacing at me, 'cause my bow didn't look like the others in the ensemble, and I was holding it strange...way above the frog...but I just looked away from Him as much as I could,,,
BTW, The 'frog' is the ebony chunk of wood that hangs at the bottom of the bow.
