Our meetting was just getting started when we heard the loud crash out front. Jason jumped up, dashed to the front window at the end of the 2nd floor hall and looked down on the street.

Ben must have been in the bar below on his way in because he was already out there when Jason saw Maddie's red Miata. It was a mess, obviously first hit by the truck from behind as she waited to turn down the alley to the parking lot behind the club, then by an oncoming car.

By the time we got down there and out on the street, Gino had Ben had called 911 and a firetruck had arrived. The firemen opened the passenger side door to get Maddie out of the car. Ben wartned him that she was pregnant.

Within minutes they had her out and in the ambulance. Ben rode to the Queens hospital with her while Furio drove the rest of us over there in the limo.

Ben had told Gino to call Joshua and he arrived naturally quite upset, but he did tell the doctor to do what ever was required in surgery to save his wife. That meant the loss of the baby. We stayed there all evening with Josh, until the doctor came out and said she was okay and Josh could at least see her. The rest of us would have to wait until she was released from the Intensive Care Unit.
