This Week's Gossip
Last Sunday morning Bruce and I headed downstairs to have brunch with Rachel. She was already there sipping her normal tea and looked up with a knowing smile when we arrived. Apparently, she'd spent the evening with Mike Miller and hadn't made it for our morning run in Central Park either.
I actually played Miranda in Rachel's Sex and the City play on Wednesday night, opposite Eric as Steve. I tugged on that red haired wig and had a lot of fun trading adlibs with Eric. He's a kick! Miranda has to tell Steve she's pregnant with his baby. Steve was thrilled to know that his one remaining ball still works, although Miranda wasn't as thrilled.
She'd given him a "mercy fuck" that night since she'd been so mean to Steve about his testicular cancer problem. She realizes now that not using a condom was pretty stupid. Charlotte was pissy because she can't seem to get pregnant and Miranda will be having a baby from a one night stand with Mister One-Ball.
Next week Rachel plans to pair up Eric and Lynzy as Will and Grace. After months of teasing each other during the plays, they finally wind up face to face. I can't wait to see the adlibs in this one!
Scarlet returned to New York City late in the week. She has always been one of the top fashion models and Carly Carpenter put her on the front page of Vogue last summer. I'm sure we'll be catching her in many of the magazines soon.
Friday I attended the opening round of the infamous Arnold Brady trial. I sat in the back row and watched as Judge Gamble presided with Nelle Porter as the prosecutor and Tara Wilson for the defense. The sparring was hot and heavy and I could over hear Ed Deline cursing, especially when his daughter, Delinda, was on the stand. Tough duty, I have to admit. I understand Judge Gamble has scheduled the next session for Monday. I won't miss that for the world.
Diego seemed quite pleased when we had lunch on Saturday and I assumed he might have found some exciting new lady friend. When I pressed him for reasons why, it turns out he's found a new manager for his Refuse Removal Inc. firm. The guy's name is Jimmy "The Kid" Fells and apparently Jimmy knows that Teamster president, Colin Martino, pretty well. With Peter Farenzio off on a break, Diego needed somebody to ease the pressure on Ben Bravio, who manages Genovese Construction Inc.
I haven't met Jimmy yet, but Rachel tells me she met him at the Four Seasons Club bar when he came in there looking for Diego. She says that Jimmy is cute, so I'll have to look him up.
Xavier "Fallon" Castellano took home her new baby girl on Saturday night, Donnatella Nichelle Deline on the birth certificate at the hospital. Congratulations, hon.
Late Saturday night, Rachel called me to tell me she just left the Four Seasons Club where she saw an engagement ring on Elspeth Wise's ring finger. Elspeth wouldn't say who the lucky man was, but I'm sure we'll know someday.
Entertainment
This Wednesday night, February 8th at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's version of Will & Grace - Where There's a Will. It should be fun and I will be sitting in my center seat in the back row watching to see who might show up and who sits with whom, unless Rachel once again needs me in the cast.
