(posted as Shirley Schmidt of Crane, Poole & Schmidt)
After meeting with Paris Hilton in Denny Crane's office, I headed directly to Judd Risk Management in the Plaza Hotel where I met with Kevin Kelly, their NYC manager.
I explained the situation to Kevin, that Hans Brown, a man well known in Phoenix as The Sultan of Sleaze, had managed to purchase Hilton's journals, photos and video tapes of her in compromising affairs across the country.
The items in question, including clothing, furniture, computers, personal journals, photos and videotapes, were stored by Hilton in a Los Angeles storage unit while she was in the process of moving from one house in Los Angeles back to one here in New York City. The storage firms claims that legally they had every right to auction the stuff off since Paris wasn't paying the bills.
Crane, Poole and Schmidt will try and keep Hans Brown in negotiations while we pay Judd Risk Management to try and get the stuff back before Brown sells it to papers like the Globe, the Star or the National Inquirer.
We're sure we could win a long trial, but that won't help Paris once the information is out. I gave Kevin a check for $10,000 as a retainer and we'll replace it as they use it. Their final fee will be based on what they're able to recover before it's exposed.
