This Week's Gossip
I woke up alone last Sunday night for a change, so I slipped into some sweats and met Rachel in Central Park for our normal run. She was still flustered to hear that I hadn't been able to find out who gave Elspeth Wise that engagement ring. Sooner or later I'm sure we'll find out.

On Monday I attended the continuation of the Arnold Brady trial, sitting in the back row beside CBS reporter, Bridget Martin. The key witness was Margaret Mason, one of the women that Brady had taped during sex without her permission. She said he had doped her second glass of wine, then took her back to his place where he took advantage of her condition. It wasn't until she saw the hidden video tapes the police found that she decided to come forward and testify. It's a shame that none of the other  women Brady had drugged and raped were located, or just weren't willing to step forward.

While on the stand, Brady said that he was merely looking for the perfect woman he could marry and spend the rest of his life with. Yeah, like drugging, raping and filming them will ever help him find a willing female. Unbelievable!!

The Jury was only out for twenty minutes before they returned with their verdicts. They found him guilty of rape with Ms. Mason, but found him not guilty of the attempted rape charges with Ms. Deline. Of course, he had already plead guilty of the assault charges on Ms. Deline.

On Tuesday, Judge Helen Gamble sentenced Brady to 10 years for the rape of Ms. Mason and an additional 5 years for the assault against Ms. Deline.

I understand that Ms. Deline won't proceed with a civil case against Brady, but her father is making  generous donations to several of those battered women operations in the New York City and Las Vegas areas.

I sat in the back row beside William on Wednesday night, watching Rachel's Will & Grace play. Since Lynzy called in sick, Rachel took over the role as Grace. Eric, as Will, had to do some last minute changes to his prepared script, but pulled it off nicely. Mack played Jack and was an absolute riot, poking fun at everybody in sight. Dami played Karen quite well, quipping away rapid fire like in the original show. Rachel's lover duck, Mike Miller played the IRS auditor and Guy, the man in the elevator that succeeded in getting in Grace's pants.

Rachel told me that she met Scarlet in Victoria's Secret at the Brooklyn Heights Mall. They shared comments regarding the various lingerie and Rachel left with several pairs of those new boy shorts panties that she loves. Scarlet bought some sexy red lace thing.

Scarlet apparently picked up her sister, Nyssa Summers, at the airport and brought her back to the Four Seasons Club where they met Rachel and Bobby Campbell. Bobby managed to talk Scarlet into bringing Nyssa along next week to Starlet's photo shoot where he promised to make up a portfolio for Nyssa.

Nyssa will be living with Scarlet while she takes acting classes at Columbia University. Rachel offered to cast Nyssa in one of her upcoming plays.

I read on the Yahoo news that some sleazebag has somehow obtained Paris Hilton's private diaries and is threatening to sell them to the highest bidder or bidders. Paris has retained Crane, Poole & Schmidt to represent her and hopes to regain her information. You can bet those journals include names of people that do not want to be headlines in The National Inquirer or some other weekly rag.

Sean McNamara and Delinda Deline disappeared after the trial, probably gone off somewhere where she could relax.

Saturday night, in spite of the threats of the incoming blizzard, Rachel and I headed for Mahoney's Irish Pub where we shared a pitcher of their wonderful Killian's Red Ale. There was a surprisingly big crowd there, including pub owner, Denny Maloney, and his lovely girlfriend, Carolyn Donovan.

Molly was behind the bar working her butt off as the crowd grew. Deborah Eliot, the new council woman replacing Anne Heche, arrived a bit upset since she couldn't reach her husband, psychiatrist, Dr. Ruben Eliot. Ruben was supposed to fly out of New Your City, but all the airports were closed. Hopefully, he's all right.

Scarlet Summers was there, chatting with Rachel and me about her younger sister, Nyssa, and the sexy white top Scarlet was wearing.

To top things off, who should wakl in but Sheryl Crow, complaining that the weather had grounded her bus and her band out front. Denny talked her into giving us a short sampling of her planned performance in Boston the following night.

Last, but not least it was Ed Deline and Xavier Castellano arriving just in time to dance to Crow's songs. Rachel hurried us out around 11:00 pm, concerned that staying later might strand us at Mahoney's.

Entertainment
This Wednesday night, February 15th at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's version of Friends - Eddie Moves In. It should be fun and I will be sitting in my center seat in the back row watching to see who might show up and who sits with whom, unless Rachel once again needs me in the cast.
