Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.

We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility for our future.

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.

I know we usually only do one or so at a time.  But I did a search a few months ago for quotes I wanted to add to my website.  Here are some from a few very interesting women that I admire.

I would venture to guess that Anon, who wrote so many poems without signing them, was often a woman. - Virginia Woolf

Susan B. Anthony
The fact is, women are in chains, and their servitude is all the more debasing because they do not realize it.
on foreign policy: How can you not be all on fire? ... I really believe I shall explode if some of you young women don't wake up --and raise your voice in protest against the impending crime of this nation upon the new islands it has clutched from other folks. Do come into the living present and work to save us from any more barbaric male governments.

Lucille Ball

I have an everyday religion that works for me. Love yourself first, and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.
• Once in his life, every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a gorgeous redhead.
• My God, I'm outliving my henna.
• Women's lib?...It doesn't interest me one bit. I've been so liberated it hurts.
It's a helluva start, being able to recognize what makes you happy.

Marilyn Monroe

It's all make believe, isn't it?
• If I'd observed all the rules, I'd never have got anywhere.
• I'm very definitely a woman and I enjoy it.
Creativity has got to start with humanity and when you're a human being, you feel, you suffer.
• I love to do the things the censors won't pass.
My illusions didn't have anything to do with being a fine actress. I knew how third rate I was. I could actually feel my lack of talent, as if it were cheap clothes I was wearing inside. But, my God, how I wanted to learn, to change, to improve!
Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul.

Marie Curie

We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained.
Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas.
• I am one of those who think like Nobel, that humanity will draw more good than evil from new discoveries.
• There are sadistic scientists who hurry to hunt down errors instead of establishing the truth.

Marie Curie is, of all celebrated beings, the only one whom fame has not corrupted. - Albert Einstein

Eleanor Roosevelt
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
What is to give light must endure the burning.
• Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't.
When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it?
Too often the great decisions are originated and given form in bodies made up wholly of men, or so completely dominated by them that whatever of special value women have to offer is shunted aside without expression.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Elenor Rosevelt was such an inspiring woman.  I ask any that would to read her autobiography.  She was simply classic.

Demi
Find the courage to step away from the crowd and be yourself.

Imagination is the key to my lyrics. The rest is painted with a little science fiction.

If I had been around when Rubens was painting, I would have been revered as a fabulous model. Kate Moss? Well, she would have been the paintbrush.
