Its not good advice to take medicine someone is telling you to take , you could be allergic to something in it or you may have certain medical conditions that wont allow them .. Nyquil carries, Pseudoephedrine... many people cant take it and if your vomiting this is the worse thing for you.
For vomiting , you want to remember to stay hydrated ... so , start with small sips of ginger ale or gatorade , popsicles are good too they have the elements of an IV which will keep you hydrated , also watch to see how much your vomiting , if you cant hold anything down you may need to be hydrated by IV fluids , perhaps some vistaril for the nausea and vomiting but only your Doctor can order that ..
once the vomiting is under control do the BRAT diet ( Banana's , rice , applesauce and toast ) Bland works best not to upset your stomach then move onto a soft diet ( eggs , jello , toast baked potatoe plain )
For your cold ... keep your room cool , not hot .. cool and shower with steam , until the vomiting stops there is nothing you can really take that will work or stay down , in any case call your physician for any medicine .. its always good to make sure it is a cold and nothing more
