Hoboken car bombing
« on: July 06, 2006, 10:01:38 PM »
[[Posted as Gabriel Mancinni...]]

Responding to the call of the bombing, everything was kind of strange. I mean, what the hell was a Ferrari doing out in the middle of what looked like a rundown pier? I mean- it was so random. Which rules out a terrorist hit or some sort of liberal guerillaism.

I reached for my antacids at this point, as it could only mean one thing: the Black Hand. Of course, it's only a problem if...

Oh holiest of shits. Sure enough, though the driver was dead (the team was working on dental and prints) a blast proof suitcase seemed to have survived. There was an engraved emblem- thankfully not the Zasa "Z," but oddly enough it had the initials of "A.T." on it. Which only adds to the randomness- it was like, duh, organized crime hits are supposed to be easy to ID (and I should know, being involved with more than I can remember myself), but this- not even a mentally challanged mafia hood would left so many clues out in the open. It was almost as if this clown, or these clowns, wanted to get caught.

The "A.T." instantly makes Alfonso Tommasi #1- but he's with the Genovese, and they don't peddle drugs; least in the public's eye. I know better...which is why I don't get it. There's no way he'd be this careless. Not that I'd complain much- it means I'd get to kill him while clearing my name so I won't have to deal with Diego Farina or the other heads of the the New York Families. Afterall, no body really wants a war.

...But then again why not?

Wow!!... a car bombing in Hoboken... No identification yet regarding the terribly burned body in the car. I hope it's not anybody I know.

*getting dressed in my running gear, anxious to talk with Lindsay and see if she has any clue who might have been whacked*

Our new 5th Precinct captain, Don Cragen, has assigned me and my new partner, Rick Sorvano to help investigate the Hoboken bombing. We'll be working with Gabe Mancinni, a detective in the Narcotics Division.
