This Week's Gossip
It was a cloudy and surprisingly cool 69 degrees when I met with Rachel for our morning run in Central Park. The problem was the 80 percent humidity that had us reduced to just walking after one mile into our run. Richard Stewart joined us for the walk portion and we joked around about the horror movie he saw the previous night with Angel Jones. He just smiled, saying it was fun, but I couldn't pry a single juicy detail out of him. Good boy!
My biggest surprise of the week was coming home, turning on my desk top computer, opening my email to find one from the notorious Doll Man. I was simply scanning a few and then saw it......... a doll.... naked...... hanging by the neck.
The accompanying email said ...... "This will be you Miss Gossip....... if you keep posting comments referring me as The Doll Man"
I called Lt. Joe Friday and told him what I'd found. He said not to touch anything, just leave it on the monitor. He was sending Tyler Franco, their computer geek, over to try and determine where it was actually sent from and where the picture might be stored.
I provided the sodas as I watched Tyler work. Within a few minutes he determined that the email was sent from a Manhattan library, where he also loaded the photo of the doll. The email address was brand new on Yahoo.com so they couldn't learn much from that, but Joe and his partner will check it out and see if anybody remembers seeing the man that sent it that day. Joe says you never know when you might get lucky.
Well, I didn't get lucky tonight so my Sunday column is being sent in early.

Rachel has temporarily put her Webmaze Players Wednesday nights plays on hold until September 13th.
