Syn escapes

It's been a few days, as he has stayed shacked with his angelic love in a safe haven outside the bright lights of the Vegas desert. The color to her skin has returned to its natural radiance. She sleeps curled up next to me like a soft kitty. I can't help myself, as I feel the tendrills of her golden hair weaving in and out of my fingers- not so much for the physical satisfaction, but the comfort of knowing that this was real: my baby is alive and well.

He lets his eyes shift from their gaze of tenderness on her to the cascading sun on the horizon through the window. His blue orbs become hardened in concentration like steel. Now that the most important issue had been resolved, there would be nothing to stop the wrath that would fall hard upon Panucci. And if Alfonso or Donatelli felt inclined to try and rectify things, they, too, would be greeted with same fate.

He hadn't shaved or groomed himself since losing Syn. The lone bargaining chip he had to overthrow Tommasi for sole control over the Western Empire, as well as take out the others in one fell swoop, had somehow managed to slip by three house guards, a comprehensive medical staff, as well as the hundreds of other Bellagio employees. The surveillance cameras were no good- she hadn't gone out that way, and there are no eyes in the underground chambers.

He strolls to an fro, as he passes the decomposing corpses of Jay and Hank- the result of their failure to keep their dicks in check and their hands off of my prized lamb. Fumbling out a fag to light, taking a deep drag, as he replays the incident in his head.

He had been returning back from making a deal with that Roscoe Wallace back in New York. Fucker didn't look like he even had a high school diploma, but was smart enough to figure out with Al dead the younger Tommasi brother had the keys in hands now. Even worse, Salvatore was protected under the Genovese thumb- should a bolt of lightning suddenly take him, there would be no way to avoid Don Farina's retaliation. Which is why he needed need for the dope dealer to get that prize piece of Atlantic City for me. Which is how Wallace conned him into giving him the higher percentage. Oh well- he would have to let that sit. Can't really complain with the prospect of becoming a mogul in legalized gambling now, could he? Besides in our line of work, there is no such thing as a sure thing. The New York complications can wait.

Minutes before boarding his plane back to Las Vegas, Tommy had called him to let him know Mario's plaything had escaped. Cost me a perfectly good suit and a cell phone as a result. (Not to mentioned a soiled pair of underpants  :P ) The bitch somehow managed to make it to another Family's safeground. What was the guy's name? Jimmy-something...He would have to look into that, as Jimmy and his Family would have to be dealt with for their part in this insult.

He had instructed Tommy, who was tailing Mario at the time of the call, to get all our button men over their at the rogue Family member's home to take them out as well as the girl. Sucked for him- by the time his men got there, the place was abandoned with no leads. But his loss wasn't anything compared to Tommy's- the newspapers the next day reported he had been killed in an automobile accident; explosion, to be exact.

How frustrating. And there's no Sophie around to take my aggressions out on because she's staged in New York to keep an eye out for me on my new business partner, Mr. Wallace. Stopping in front the metal waste basket, he engages in a staredown until finally he growls and throws it against the office window. He doesn't look, but slumps down on his desk instead. Fishing for another ciggy, as he can hear the waste basket land with a thud down below on the casino floor, the commotion of the patrons flooding into his room...

She had stayed curled next to Mario as much as she could.  She didn't want to leave his side, didn't want to be away from him for even a moment.  All those conversations with Ed about how he had killed Mario, how he had watched him suffer and beg for Syn's life and so much more detail of how Mario had been killed.  She just wanted to run away with him and stay somewhere that no one would touch them.  She had the money, the resources and the know how to make it happen.  But she also had a debt to settle and that wouldn't go unchecked.

She knew that Mario would be plotting, thinking and planing out exactly what needed to be done.  She would listen, but for now she had a few calls to make.

As she sat in the bath, bubbles covering her body except her arm.  Long tappered fingers were curled around the reciever as she listened to it ringing.  Looking down as she lifted a leg out of the tub, the bruises almost gone, though there were a few mental bruises that would take a while.  She was tough, but some things do take their toll on you.

"Oh hello, can i please speak to Mr. Simmons.   Yes i can hold."

She waited the few moments for the gaming commissioner to get to the phone.  She had called Jimmy who called in a few favours to get the number.  If the man didn't answer she'd call the direct line she had.

"Ted Simmons how can i help you."

"Ah yes, hello Mr Simmons.  I have some information about the Belagio and it's use of it's underground and the rooms and hallways that do not have security cameras.  It has come to my attention that the Bellagio might be partaking in illegal activities."

"Interesting...Ms... I am sorry i didn't catch your name."
"I haven't given it Mr. Simmons.  Right now there is a package on your desk.  A video tape of some of those hallways and the unchekced door that leads to the alley.  I hope you find it useful."

She hung up the phone and smiled as it fell to the bathmat below.  Her body sunk into the depths of the hot water.  Jimmy had been resourceful as usual and had paid someone well to take the video.  Another one of Ed's lackies that could be bought easily with money.  So much for loyalty.  She was loyal to one person and one person only and for him she would give her own life.  She had never felt for anyone what she felt for Mario.  She laughed as she thought about the visit Ed would be having from the comissioner.  She'd love to be there, love to see the look on his face.  Oh she knew they wouldn't find anything.  He surely had someone paid at the commissioners office to let him know what was coming.  But now he'd have to clean up down there and put in cameras and do it right quick.  That in itself would be worth seeing the look in his face.  And to think.  This was just the begining for the poor sad pathetic Ed Panucci.
