kiah's challenge
« on: December 16, 2006, 03:57:28 PM »
kiah has only met Mistress Johari twice and a sister now once in the room/home. she has had a trainer, delilah, email and spoken to Master on Q but otherwise have not met any of you. her first impressions are therefore being made from this messageboard until she meets you in the room and gets to interact or watch your r/p. this being said, she challenges you to tell her what makes being a part of this...Home...this Family...stronger and more special than any other...

please,
kiah{MTC}mat-tp

I will take the challenge.. flame loves them...
I know that I have just meet you today in the room.. and I know that I am not on here much due to rt problems.
but i can tell you that everyone of the members of this camp will take there shirts off there backs to help anyone and they will role play with anyone that ( like Master Rags sayes jumps into the role play ) you can not just sit on the side and not be in the fun.. you have to enter act.. I know that we are not in camp  24/7 but when they are. it is very fun and you learn alot from the role play. everyone has rt and as i have told you today and the family will back me up on this part.. Rt always always comes frist...you just need to give it time and you will soon meet everyone... i promise you that... You could not have choosen a better place to role play then th is camp.. it is the only one that I know of th at is TRUE GOREAN.. and it is a strict home but that is how Master Rags.. runs it..  like i said before.. just give it time and you will soon meet everyone.. heck i havent meet everyone and have been a member of this camp for months this time and has been a  member  of the camp years agoo as well...

gives her sister a hug..  know she will do good in her new home and will soon get to start  meeting people..
I won't promise to be your friend forever, because I won't live that long. But let me be your friend as long as I live.

kadi couldn't have said it better!

I know it's disheartening to come to an empty camp and do chores, chores, chores.  It feels very isolating -- I've been there.  But this is a strange time of year.  Almost all of our members are participating in the once-per-year Forest Event, so our home is abnormally empty.  Once the event ends on December 20th, we'll be cranking up for Winter Migration.  And that is going to be a blast, room packed every night!

Living in the land of sun, sand, and Thassa breezes, where the only rule is common sense.  What's not to love?

hi delilah,
thank you for your words here and your feedback on my chores, the correction and guidence has been encouraging. the empty camp is a bit lonely and chores i dont mind, its just disheartening to read the boards and hear only the negative stuff and hope that the positive exists but my sisters are showing me what true loyalty is and i too will know that strength of that faith in family/Home some day.

Tal my kiah,

Look at it this way as well....

It is usually easy to post the negative. Anger, sorrow, irritation, etc, are very easy in most cases to put into words. If not an actual description, it can be seen in the words and their meanings.

The good things, the positive things that make Tuchuk so great, are those things which usually defy definition. It is more a feeling one carries with them be it on line or off. It simply "is".

We can thank, compliment, post to the thoughts and prayers... but these are small and never draw the attention a good grumble does. But that deep feeling I spoke of... it is always felt and always present.

Once Tuchuk... always Tuchuk... no matter where life takes you.

~canting my head, and smiling at your question~taking a bit of time to think on this before replying~

greetings kiah, it's good to see another inquisitive mind in camp~s~

i don't know if i can give you an honest answer to what makes Tuchuk so special, as it is the only Home ever known to me. but i will try to answer your question, from my experience.

this Home, will welcome an utterly green member, as warmly as a seasoned veteran. the members will offer support in times of need, love and prayers, or simply a friendly ear. it is a place, where real laughter, and sometimes even tears will flow. it is, as Master said, something more than can be simply expressed, it is a sense of family, good and bad~chuckles~ it is a place where Gor, roleplay, and the hearts of the people...blend and meld. though, to me at the moment, the most important thing, it is a home that understands that life...happens~lol~...pulling you in 50 million directions at once. it is still a safe haven, that only a family can provide.

~chuckles and decides that's enough rambling for now~

hopefully, rt will lessen...and we will get the chance to meet in Camp.
until then...keep your chin up, and remember...we may be scarce at times, and a tad bit...mmmm...goofy...but we are always here~tapping my chest~

~leaving butterfly kisses~

kiah,

I've pegged that you spend time alone in camp.  I spent 8+ hours a day in camp by myself when MTC was new, just to have a body there to say, "hey world!  MTC ain't going anywhere, so ya best come on in and have a sit..."  I wasn't the only one, there were others too that have done their time sitting alone.   But what you have to understand also, is that it's seasonal for the most part. There are going to be times this home is so busy and packed, you'll leave exhausted and praying for those quiet times.

Now, I'm going to answer your so-called challenge.

I think the fact that Webmaze Tuchuk is the oldest original Gorean home that is still thriving, boasting a membership most homes can only dream about, with a goodly spine of members being a part of this home more years than my fingers on one hand can count, should tell you something.

I think you're looking at the home like one would a box of chocolates (nudges whats-his-face outta the way and taking his quote deeper).  While it's true you can't know each individual chocolate without biting into them, and finding a variety of personalities as great as if you walked into a busy airport, that box of chocolates collectively is Godiva chocolates, and not Russell Stovers.

This is a home where you walk in and you find a mixed bag of nuts, screw-ups, goof-balls, super-serious, just plain sweet as punch, ornery, feisty, et al.

It's the same as when I arrive at my job every day.

Except one thing.

At work, you get fired for being a screw up.

In MTC, you get embraced and told "hey, it's okay" and are allowed to ease back and learn to not be a screw-up anymore, and have the support of many while you do.

In MTC, when someone says they care --- Ragnar, Karanis, Muse, Lilac, Kitya, Kelsey, delilah, lure, just for starters --- they damn well mean it.

'Nuff said.

it was not lost to kiah that her post would also be making a first impression of her to you.

challenge was the only word she could come up with...not the 'demand' or 'duel' definitions ~shudders at those thoughts~...but more of the deep questioning side...to the Frees she offended and the slaves she irritated, she truly does apologize. to the ones who somehow understood what she was trying to ask; she thanks you profusely.

she can handle the alone time, she has helped build a new Home in a different realm with only her Owner years ago. she understands the holidays, the FE, and sickness. she couldn't call herself a slave or r/p as one if she didnt. she's no better than any of you and not out to win any contests for most hours/chores but her heart had to know if this new Home was worth the sacrifice...because when the MTC collar was placed on her neck, she became one of you, one of the family.

she has learned thru you that she does not need to nearly scream to be heard. that Master can take her feelings and sum what she says in many paragraphs(email) into a few wise words, and that her sisters aren't afraid to say whether they agree, understand or are annoyed -  which are all wonderful things to her.

thank you all for telling her how you think this Home and Family is special. she was thrilled to hear it all and hopefully a few of the family will be reminded as well (~and you thought this was all about her smile~) and the new members we haven't met yet.

kiah wishes you well..

~whispers softly to the winds~...once Tuchuk..always Tuchuk...~as Master said~

Taps Her Chin and thinks on this one.

Well now, IF I had to go on what makes this home,  this weird bunch of people, roleplayers, goreans, whatever you would like to calls us family.  I would have to say that there is one thing that does draw us together.  We share with one another, we love, we laugh, we cry, we struggle. and even though we may never see the face behind the screen.  We reach out to one another  in some form, to share and be there.. simply just be there for someone else.  I was in this home a long long longggggggg time ago.  This family, this bunch of crazy people held me together through some of the most painful points in my life.  I have returned to them now that I have been able to find the time to come back and be a functioning part of this family.  Did they turn their back on me when I had to go. NO they didn't.... they said we are here for you to come home to when you are ready, when you are able.  They gave me the strength to carry on even when I didn't have any strength left in me to keep going.  Life throws things at you and even though I have never met alot of them face to face.. I know if one day I do walk up on one of them I will know their presence.  right now the forest event.... the holidays... keep us all busy and insane.... but trust me.... once you get to know this crazy bunch of people.... you will never want to leave it....
