This Week's Gossip
Diego and I flew back to New York City from Washington last Sunday and as usual I spent New Year's Eve with him at his Upper East Side mansion. It was a small gathering this year, just some close friends and business associates, including Rachel and Mike Miller. I jokingly suggested a key party but Rachel said no way. She knew I'd try and get Mike's key, the most delectable male I've never had the opportunity to spend an "evening" with.
Mike and Diego watched all the bowl games on Monday while Rachel and I went shopping at all those New Year's day sales. She kept getting interrupted on her cell phone and I'm sure Jon Bon Jovi called her, possibly more than once.
On Tuesday I had lunch with Gina Reynolds, a very talented paparazzi, and we shook hands on a deal. I'll be paying her for both photos and information and she'll give me first choice of any gossip related stuff she can dig up.
Wednesday night I filled in for Dami in Rachel's Friends play. It was a kick and a half with Mike Miller in the audience along with several other high profile celebs. I played Monica, a perfect role for me, while Rach played Rachel Green and Alice played Phoebe. Doni played Ross, Phil was Chandler, and Jack played Joey as usual. Jack is a riot, firing off those clever adlibs. He's a lot of fun on a date too, as I recall.
Gina came through in her first assignment. She advised me that Eoin Ryan has indeed joined Tammi Hanlin's crew over at the Carnegie Hill Spa. I called Tammi and invited her to join me for lunch. Her description of Eoin and his talents was erotic. I have to meet this guy and asked her to schedule me for a massage there.
Then came the surprise. I'm sitting there alone in my Plaza Hotel suite, laptop opened to the Pleasure Palace chat room with a nice glass of Kendall-Jackson chardonnay at my side. I barely had conversations going with a couple wannabees when my phone rang. It was Eoin down in the lobby asking permission to come up.
Of course I said sure. He said he was there to deliver an envelope and I knew immediately what was in there, my 069 winnings. I took a quick look in the mirror, touched up my lipstick and brushed my hair. I was already at the door using the peep hole when he knocked.
When he walked in he said he needed me to count the money before he left and I used that excuse to bring him a Guinness. He said he needed to leave right away, so I used every ounce of guile I own to get him to stay. He was cute when I walked back out with his ale and I caught him peeking at the chat room in my lap top.
I counted the one hundred dollar bills and asked him what a massage right there and now might set me back. He called Tammi and cleared the fact that he had a customer. I can't wait to hear Tammi's reaction when she finds out it was me.
I had to slip out in the middle of the night to fire off this column to the Times in time to make the Sunday morning edition.

This Wednesday night, January 10th at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's version of Will & Grace - Secrets and Lays. It should be fun and I will be sitting in my center seat in the back row watching to see who might show up and who sits with whom.
