Rumor City
=========
There's was a rumor floating around New York City yesterday morning that Salvatore Tommasi, Genovese Construction Inc. (GCI) project manager for the new Giant's football stadium in the Meadowlands, was shot and wounded right in front of the Four Seasons Supper Club.

Ben Bravio, GCI manager, wasn't taking phone calls on his business line. I did reach Diego Farina, Genovese Enterprises Chief Executive Office (CEO) but he said he'd rather not comment until all the facts are in.

I reached NYPD Lt. Joseph Friday who did say that he had looked into the situation and confirmed that NYPD Detective Gabriel Mancini of the Narcotics Division was handling the case. Friday said that he found Mancini already in the patient's hospital room and he left the case in his hands since Gabe knew Salvatore personally and there were apparently no drugs involved.

In late night news I learned that Salvatore Tommasi was indeed found in a New Jersey hospital by a NJPD police officer. The officer said that a woman named Summer McGuire was sitting at  Tommasi's bedside when he arrived and she admitted she accidentally shot Sal when she was joking around with what she thought was his unloaded pistol.

My question now is, who was that in the Manhattan hospital bed? Who was the real Salvatore Tommasi? I haven't been able to reach Detective Mancini to date but I'm working on it.

[Posting as Alfonso Tommasi]

He sat there catching the last segment of the whole Tomassi shooting fiasco. A neat little smirk crossed his lips, as he rubbed his hands together. No doubt this will cause heads to roll, which is just enough of a rouse he needed to make his move...Not that he had anything against his current family...Well, at least not everyone...Still, he was a very ambition man and he realized a long time ago that being "Second Best" was never going to cut it for him. Now is the time to strike...But the importance is on the utmost at not being too careless...Shuffling the deck of cards in his hands in his Vegas suite, flicking off the sattilite broadcasting of the New York correspondant's report....Stamping out the cigar butt in the already littered ashtray, wondering if "she" has been paying attention and has started piecing things together....That Alfonso Tommasi is back near her neck of the woods....And that this wolf is very very hungry...

[Posting as Gabriel Mancini]

Last night had an unforseen turn of events. I had thought Salvatore's older brother had been sent away on "sabaticle" by Diego Farina. Turns out I was wrong, as it was him that was lying motionless there where Salvatore should have been.

Oh, how perfect it would have been- the easiest cleanup ever. Instead I have an angry Dante on my ass, my own pride stabbed with the dagger of shame, and worst of allĀ  I have no idea how Aronne is going to take this. All I know is someone who hails from Corleone is going to end up in a body bag with this mess...

Sitting at my desk and playing phoetag with the NJPD to see if they turned up anything...Probably less fishy this way. Besides, I know Alfonso has got some kind of rogue on my ass. Turns out there in fact is a listed Tommasi in the New Jersey hospital...And that a certain Summer Miguire was at his bedside- dully noted as a witness at the scene of the accident. Deciding there is more to this Summer than she gave in her report, I send one of the family goons to monitor her little dance study she has, and another to camp outside her apartment.

The only light spot last night was the fantastic night of rough sex with my fellow desk jockey, Dara Bertolli. I knew all that pent up frustration would come in handy sometime...But it's odd because usually for me co-worker fuck sessions are just precisely that. The "outside of work" social activity, if you will....But when I got up late last night to get back to my place, I couldn't help but feel a real satisfaction in the core of my being...Kind of like finding a piece of the puzzle that we call life....I do hope she is a bit nicer to me now. But if not- I can always take it out on her in bed... [ :P]

Oh, but in my life there is little time to enjoy the fuzzy feelings. I glare out the window, knowing he's out there...We'll see who the victor is Alfonso Tommasi....We'll see...

But right now, I've got more pressing matters...Like this nosey Brdiget Martin who asks too many inconvenient questions at precisely the worst of times....Wondering how to deal with her...

[Posting as Gabriel Mancini]

Having gone to the dance studio Summer Miguire runs, I didn't really expect to find much. It wasn't a police buisness visit anyways. I had really intended to snoop around, trying to see if there were any leads I could use to get closer to getting rid of the only witness of the Zaffir Lumus murder case that so totally points to Zasa as the culprit. She came in unexpectidly, so I had to abort and just play "dumb cop." I basiclaly questioned her about things already reported in statements, when I happened upon something very useful...

So, it seems sexy-pants is lover-girl to one Salvatore Tommasi...Engaged, even? This is just too rich- like melted chocolate coated unto already cavity stained teeth....So, Sal thinks he can hide out on me? Let's just see how long he can play groundhog when I dangle his prize piece out there for the vultures....

In the meantime, I need to file the report....Giving it a once over before I slap it down on Friday's desk, putting a Post-It note on the outside of the envelope:

Joe.

I had a guy in crime lab go back and check out that New Jersey hospital after that news report Bridget Martin went on the air with.
Turns out Salvatore Tommasi really was checked in there and not the New York one where we were!

I have no idea who the guy in that bed was in the New York hospital. He was a duplicate copy of my friend Sal. But as far as I know, Sal
never had any siblings. He has no family for that matter- his mother passed on just last year and I was there with him at the funeral. I'm
thinking we're gonna have to go through the books to figure this one out.

I'm sorry I'm not much help. This is still my first year at this precint and I'm still not yet familiar enough with everything. Just let me know
what I can do and I'll get it done.

Let's find out who this mystery identical twin character is!

Gabe

Smirking, as I'm getting used to playing this role of dumb cop...The last time I did this in Minnesota, it helped Zasa pull through and ahead of the pack- never looking back.

Now, I leave a message with Dante of the findings of this Mrs. Tommasi-to-be, wondering what his thoughts are...
