This Week's Gossip
I awoke last Sunday in Diego's bed. He was already gone and I found one of his typical notes, "Business as usual, Lindsay. Stella will feed you her famous oven baked French toast in bed whenever you ring her."
I called Rachel on her cell phone to find her already out running with Tammi. We agreed to meet at the Palm Court at noon for brunch. Since there wasn't any hurry, I got up, took a nice long shower and dressed for the day. Stella fixed my late breakfast and we talked for almost an hour at the breakfast table in the nook. She wonders why neither Diego or me are willing to settle down and just live together. I told her we're not that type. We need our freedom to succeed at our jobs.
Declan Mulqueen and Molly McGafferty seem to have settled down and are now living together in her father's old house in Brooklyn. Molly continues to share the bartending duties at Mahoney's Irish Pub with Barbara Swan and Rafe Michaels. I shot a game of strip pool with Anne Heche down there on Monday night. We called it a draw before things got too risqué and adjourned to her place for the night. I know she's dating her TV show partner in Men and Trees, but she's still as bi-sexual as ever.
Joe Black asked me out on a date this week and I accepted. I took him to the Blue Angel where we watched " A Portrait of Want" in the back room theatre, a very risqué play with only a moderator, a very sexy actress and a handsome male artist who was painting her in the nude. Needless to say that led to another sleepover between us. Since the seating is discreet and limited, you'll need to call for reservations in advance. The number there is 1-900-666-6969 and tell the hostess that Lindsay sent you.
I wound up playing Phoebe in Rachel's Friends play on Tuesday night when TB couldn't make it. We were surprised to find Aspen, ameeshia, Rags, Polly and Isolda in the audience which led to a mighty fine evening of bantering back and forth. Joey loves to tease Aspen and, of course, she kept hitting him with a resounding WHACK!
The police still have no leads on that rapist and killer that murdered that poor
prostitute Judy Jason. The fears of an insane serial killer seem to have faded since no other similar cases have surfaced.
Bobby Campbell is fitting in the photos of Big Apples Escorts for Lauren Bianchi, a firm I highly recommend to politicians and businesses around the entire New York City area. They look good at dinners and social affairs when busy single men and women want just a date for the evening. These Big Apple ladies and gentlemen know the city inside and out and can really help tourists and sales people that are in town for merely a week or so.
I also highly recommend the Carnegie Hill Spa, managed by my friend, Tammi Hanlin. The Spa offers superb hairdressers that can keep a business woman looking sharp. Her excellent physical trainers work with you on the multitude of Nautilus equipment and they have big screen TVs there that you can watch while riding their stationary bikes or grinding away on the tough Steps machines. That, and fast walking in Central Park, is how your gossip columnist stays in shape.
Last, but not least, is the Spa's massage parlor. Jason Maloney, Eoin Ryan, and newcomer Donnie Doyle, provide wonderful massages for the female clients. Ask anybody that's been there and felt those wonderful soft hands just how refreshing a nice one hour massage can be. Even Tammi steps in at times to help her girls with the male customers.
After spending two Saturday nights watching movies with Diego, I decided to head for Mahoney's Irish Pub last night. Barb was behind the bar and Jamie Peterson was the singer dancer on stage entertaining what I'll loosely refer to as "gentlemen". She alternated with an exotic dancer that Dennis had personally chosen for her rebuilt rack. I sat at the bar and spent most of the night with a nice gentleman that was in town just for the weekend.
I managed to find my way home just in time to add the last paragraph and fax in this column.
Entertainment
This Tuesday night, April 24th at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's version of Sex and the City - 20 Something Guys. It should be fun and I will be sitting in my center seat in the back row watching to see who might show up and who sits with whom.
