This Week's Gossip
Since I spent Father's Day in Pittsburgh with my parents, I passed on my gossip column for a week. This week I'll try and catch up.
Samantha Emris sang in public here in New York City for the first time on Tuesday night. Diego gave her a chance to sing at his Four Seasons Supper Club and we were all quite surprised with her talents. She sang a delightful song that she had written herself. As a result, Diego gave her Monday and Tuesday nights at the Four. The following weeki I was there on Tuesday night again when Samantha brought down the house with another of her own songs. Diego told me that he plans to let her be the opening singer on Saturday the 23rd for Bryan Adams. This girl might just make it as an entertainer.
On Friday evening Rachel Tatellio joined Jon Bon Jovi on a British Airways flight to London where he'll be performing at the new 02 theater this coming Sunday.
I was at the Four Seasons Supper Club early on Saturday night to witness Samantha Emeris' first chance to be the opening singer for Bryan Adams. I was sitting at the bar chatting with Mia Moore, the bartender when he entered the Four, a dark surly looking man with a dark moustache. He stationed himself in the back and ordered a Martini from Mia.
Mia said he claimed to be Samantha's boyfriend, something I felt hard to believe based on what little I really knew about her. As I recall, Sam had just barely managed to get free from the man that knocked her up seven years ago and created her son, Devin.
When the lights came on up on stage, Samantha was sitting on a chair. She jumped up kicking the chair back as she broke out in song, but not the song I expected to hear, the one that brought the house down on Tuesday night. Instead, she seemed to be almost making the lyrics up as she went along as if sending somebody a message. She did take it to a loud rousing finish which drew applause from everybody in the supper club.
Then it was Bryan Adams turn, fist singing a ballad. Bryan followed that with that wild song about wanting to be your underwear. Samantha was joined at the bar by that dark foreboding fellow that she introduced as only Joe. Bryan seemed like he was on a mission when he left the stage to sing sexy versus directly to Samantha which pissed Joe off completely.
Of course, I was Bryan's next target and we traded a few cute come on posts. Joe had stormed off to the men's room while Bryan wrapped up the sexy song by singing to Mia. Sam was blushing like hell, but I knew she enjoyed every minute of it.
When Joe came out he insisted on hauling Samantha off to God only knows where. I left shortly later, heading for home and another night of teasing the guys in the Pleasure Palace chat room.
