What a wonderful surprise..both Ms McGrath and I arrived at Babbo’s at the same time.
After we were seated, Mary introduced herself. Having found out who F 430 NYC Marathon was several days earlier, her introduction confirmed she was not only attractive but also honest.
Her napkin was both a surprise and delight to her. The Tee I gave her was the proper size she assured me and when I ordered the wine I was treated to another side of this wonderful woman.
When the bottle arrived at our table I asked Mary to approve my selection. She inspected the cork, and asking for a small portion she lifted the wine glass to her nose to smell the wine’s boutique .. nodding her approval she swirled the wine around in her glass and inspected the wine for its clarity. Mary took a small portion into her mouth and while not apparent to the common eye she let the wine play with her tastebuds. Swallowing she smiled and said “Very nice, as a matter of fact charming.”
The manner in which her fingers curled around the stem of her wine glass was sensual and sent a shock of electricity through me.
The food was exceptional, the conversation was wonderful and I found out that this marathon runner was an author who wrote steamy romance novels. Who would have guessed that fact. When I ordered the Hazelnut Cake for desert she uttered a soft gasp. Even now I have no idea what that was all about.
We shared a taxi back to her apartment but I was not invited up for a nightcap. Was I disappointed .. yes and no. Yes because I would have had more time with this exceptional woman. No because it seemed to me that as our time together at dinner lengthened .. I think I fell under a spell. Now I’m sure to most that might seem absurd but I lost track of time, I heard no one speaking but the two of us and thinking back now, I felt a tingling all over me. I’ve never enjoyed not being in control of my senses.
We exchanged Email addresses. I dearly wish to keep in touch with this Lady.
