Motel Room
« on: August 18, 2007, 12:31:00 PM »
Rags, in case the motel contacts you, regarding the last night of the room fee, which I understand you boasted about having it waived, I contacted by the motel because they tried to stiff me for the entire full cost of that night.  I reminded the owner that on Sunday, I had signed and authorized only half of the room charge and notated that the other half was on your end.  Then informed him that the charge would be contested and forms had been signed at my bank citing fraudulent charges.  He did acquiesce and resubmitted the charge at only half the fee.  Perhaps there was a misunderstanding at the waiver of the room charge or perhaps the owner of the motel is not so honest.  But at least you are alerted in case he tries to do the same to you.

I recall no boating about having anything waived. You picked up wed and thur... and we picked up fri, sat, and sunday.

I will have woobie check the room receipts.

Char,

I have your copy of the final reciepts for the motel room that the owner gave me as we checked out on Monday.

He had charged you for two nights at a total of $76.00 for two nights plus tax of $19.00 taxes.
He charged us for three nights for a total of $144.00.

If you want this copy, I can mail it to you.

Actually I paid $95.00.  $76.00 for the first half from Wed-Sat. On Sunday I authorized another half-day charge, making that total of $95.00.  I have all of my receipts and the full charge of $95.00 clearly notated on my bank statement.  I was charged, as reflected on the statements, the room total of $38.00 per night which included taxes, half of which is $19 per night, times 5 nights is $95.00.

If you paid $144.00 then indeed he charged you too much.  So if you'd like a copy to show him about the overcharge, I'll happily mail a copy.

I just wanted to let you know in case he tried such.

Rags .. on the boasting ... then that was a misunderstanding :)

If we were charged too much, it was not his error.

You did not tell us you were paying a half night, and woobie squared the bill away at paying for three nights. We were charged for the nights woobie told him to.

I am still satisfied with the cost and I don't hold the Motel Manager responsible for charging us what he was told to charge us for.

It was still a bargain being charged single occupancy rates for three.
