Thanks to those who posted thoughts and prayers for myself and my family during the time of loss. The funeral is over, and though it was neither the time nor the place to discuss such, I was very hurt and even more pissed off ((insert image of fry pan here)) at how my father was treated. I guess some families have little respect for the eldest brother, or was it, because he was the eldest and not the first to go that he was treated like that....whatever the reasoning, I know not, I just know that my dad was hurt by it all.
Life is way too short to hold grudges, yet I know that that particular grudge stung my heart. When you lose a member of your family, just be sure that the extended family is not hurt by your actions. Brothers, Sisters, Cousins, Nieces or Nephews.....they are all family no matter what.
And as the reverend said at the funeral, sometimes the past has just got to be that, the past, to be put away and forgiven, because you never know when it will be too late to forgive. Call to one you've not spoken to in a long time, hug one you've not hugged in a long time and don't forget to tell people you love, that you love them.
