*Riding back toward my "hole in the wall" apartment thinking "Jack lad, that was extremely careless. Here you are in such a rush to impress this bird and make a stupid mistake like that!"...turning into the edge of the alley adjacent to the apartment and stopping. Looking around, eyes taking in everything, looking for anything that doesn't belong. Finally satisfied that the traffic passing or parked on the street behind me doesn't contain any hidden threats and not detecting anyone out of the ordinary milling about, then toeing the bike into gear and slowly rolling down the alley and exiting onto the street and heading North out of the city. Stopping for fuel at a truckstop then turning off on a secondary road and heading Southwest for Pa. All the while thinking of what has transpired since arriving in New York.*
I know that Aliya Mokubo and his family are safe for the moment and that his involvement in the People for a free Nigeria (PFN) have enough public exposure at the moment to keep the current regime from outright assassination. Well that and the fact that I stood over the Nigerian Defense Minister as he slept and slipped those tin snips around his family jewels to convince him that Aliya and his family should be left alone, didn't hurt either. But how they found out I was in New York is a mystery to me. Hopefully those two yobs posing as the Nigerian Ambassadors aids will lead them to start sniffing around points further South. I mean, I left a trail a blind man could follow. After taking them out, any follow up should find the private boat I chartered to the Dominican Republic. That should keep them busy for awhile. I don't know what it is about Murphy's Law, but it certainly has a way of mucking up the best laid plans. Especially after running in to those two from the Minister's staff in Brooklyn. I don't think they positively identified me otherwise they wouldn't have followed me to that park to be sure. I'm sure the amount of money and coke I left on them will keep the Ambassador and his staff busy with questions from the US Government from looking too hard for who did 'em in. Although, Lindsay is a pretty smart bird and from what I've seen, good at what she does. I'll need to be extremely careful around her. And, if that photo becomes an issue, I'll just have t' get it back.
*Turning onto a rural road west of Philidelphia and riding along until coming to an old rail car turned diner, easing in next to a couple of other bikes nestled among new and old pickup trucks.*
