Daily Report

As a homicide detective I was called in on the murder case regarding the 6th floor of the Plaza Hotel. With the help of the FBI, we were able to identify the prime target in this nasty murder scene as Valentin Chenkov, the suspected boss of the New York City Russian Mafia. There were bodies all over the bullet riddled 6th floor. The FBI was able to identify four of the men as illegal Russian immigrants whose green cards had long expired. Two more did have current green cards, but obviously were no longer attending college here in the States.

After our CSI team had collected all the available crime scene data, we turned the bodies over to the Russian Embassy to be flown back to Russia. We removed the crime scene tapes and allowed the hotel to clean up the mess.

Since this was obviously a gangland type murder, I once again stopped to visit with my friend, Diego Farina. He said he had no idea who might have done this, but suggested it might be some form of retaliation by competitive New York City drug dealers.

Lisa Cohen, the NYC director for the FBI, agreed that was highly possible. They had been trying to infiltrate this Russian group, along with several other Latino groups, to prove they were dealing drugs. Most of the cocaine being slipped into the city comes through Mexico these days and those syndicates would sell to damn near anybody, including the Russians.
