My Mistress's new PC woes

my Mistress contacted me today on a borrowed PC

yesterday Her 'puter was lagging. so She
rebooted.. and the screen came up saying..
there was a problem and did She want to start
in normal or safe mode ?



BUT

no matter what She did.. the PC would turn itself off
in a few mins..

Mistress does not have the original software that came
to install the operating system...do Any or any  have
a suggestion as to what to do ?

is there a way to force the comp  to start up in
safe mode at least ?
