The Iron Lance
« on: February 08, 2008, 10:19:30 AM »
Altharen is interested in purchasing the Iron Lance. I heard Will give Dev the price of 500 gold sovereigns  based on the improvement He and Dami have made there since they purchased the Iron Lance from Aspen Starwood. You can negotiate the final price on here or in the castle.

I have the first and second floor plans  and they are in the website. Aspen has the picture of the front door and the sign, possibly on a website she created. I suggest that the new owner get this info from Asp or Dami.

This purchase should be interesting and increase the working locations in the MacLaaran Village.

I am actually prepared to offer a price of 625 gold sovereigns, howe'er I do wish to inspect the property first, as is the case with the type of negotiations

Very enticing offer, Altharen. Ye do need t' know that the land under the Iron Lance remains MacLaaran property and there is a tax fee of five gold sovereigns a month there fer it's use. Ye would own the building and all it's contents, of course.

Oy...taxes...
**mumbles something not so kind**
But of course I understand. Now if I could merely take a tour of the establishment, Sir Kyle, perhaps We could get down to the fun part of this business arrangement? Oh, and I do wish to tell the current owners that I will be keeping in My employ, provided that this proposition is carried through, all those currently on payroll by the Lance...I see no reason why they should be unemployed simply because of new ownership...

I shall try to be in the Castle Halls later this eve'n to perhaps arrange a meeting with the current owners to view the floor plans and such..if that is not too much of an inconvenience for them of course

I was quite pleased t' provide the carriage t' take Altharen in his cast down t' the Iron Lance where Lord William could give Alt a tour of the place. Devona came along to get a peek at what She might just be soon managing for Alt.

The negotiations were going hot and heavy and the last I heard was Will saying 625. I think if Alt counters with 575 they will agree at 600. That's a fair price in My opinion and both parties should walk away happy. I can write up the bill of sale and give them both copies. Will and Dami will then have the money they need for their share of the annual taxes for the MacLaaran castle and lands.

Arrived at MacLaaran a little late on Monday eve.. having heard Altharen and Devona were there.. but finding only Devona.  She gave Me the counter offer of 575 with the wood and it was easy to see.. this would be a challenging barter.

Being a little tired.. I through out an odd counter to see Devona's reaction.. but it seemed to encourage a challenging bartering spirit.. Hmmmm will see what Mine counter of 575 without wood and 615 with extra wood supplied.

Being late and Devona needed to confer with Altharen.. I gave Mine night wishes and headed back to the Taillur Cottage.

(( Yes I quite understand how RT life is.. I get plenty of distractions too.. especially with two boys getting married in the very near future.. and about 5 months apart. ))

**He sighed, His eyes darting to the side of His head as He tried to do some math in His head**

M'Lord Taillur...I suggest that we look at the numbers from the beginning...
As last I remember it, the offer You stated to M'Love was 500 sovereigns, and I am willing to assume that this was just for the property, with the beverages, linens, and tapestries being forfeit. So, including these items, I can understand a fair trade at 575 sovereigns, the price you have just set on the table. The matter of the wood however is of intrest, because certainly you do not expect me to believe that chopped up trees cost me an additional 40 sovereigns. And seeing I could just as easily get this wood for no sovereigns at all, all I need is an axe, this offer is a bit far-fetched, aye?

**He leaned in a bit, a trick He learned while playing cards. It was meant to be a silent intimidation of You, while showing He would hold His ground. Of course, He meant nothing personal, this was strictly business, and He had every intention of buying a round of drinks after...but you didn't know that**

So, I will offer you 605, for the property --and all that within it-- and the wood...

**after He had stated His counter-offer, He leaned back a bit His arms crossed over His chest and His features showing only what He wanted You to see. In His last 'profession' (OOC: He was an assassin/ mercenary) He had played a lot of cards with characters a bit more shady then those residents of MacLaaran, so at least He had the blank poker face down to something of an artform**

*silence for a few minutes as I contemplate Ye counter offer ... then looking at Ye straight in the eye with an unflinching face and slow movement toward Ye.. then speaking slowly and deliberately* Ye are a shrewd and thoughtful negotiator.

*A few more moments of silence to see if Ye might counter with a higher offer.. though nay hearing a word.. and Ye eyes seeking that opportunity for a deal....Leaning back in Mine chair.. *  Aye Ye have noted the changes based on what be included with the Iron Lance.  I hope Ye did note the wine storage has over 200 bottles of speciality wines from many countries. *a few more moments of silence* And each o the rooms have two extra sets of linens for each bed... *thinking again.. seeing Ye anticipating Mine reply.. *

*softly speaking with both Mine hands placed on Mine edge o the table.. leaning again toward Ye*  Ye offer of 605 sovereigns is very reasonable.  I will accept Ye offer provided Ye allow Me to keep two bottles of the Italian white wine.

*sits back and places Mine hands on Mine lap.. keeping eye contact with Ye.. watching Yer brows for hints of concern or decision*

Watchin' quietly as the bargaining approaches closure. I do believe the Iron Lance will be sold before nightfall. Will Devona reach Aspen? Will Aspen provide the missing Iron Lance sign?

The intrigue is breathtaking!

(OOC: Kyle, stay tuned for the exciting conclusion. Same MacLaaran place, same MacLaaran time)

**He looked to William for a bit, before finally a hint of a smirk curled upon His lips**

Now M'Friend, You are just trying to bide Your time Methinks. However, as the celebration of romance is quickly approaching, 2 bottles of the wine seems fair enough I suppose. So, there you have it. 605 soverigns and 2 bottles of wine...are We agreed?
