This Week's Gossip
Apparently, Denny Mahoney tucked me in bed last Saturday night after taking me home from his Irish Pub. He was gone when I woke up Sunday morning and to the best of my knowledge, nothing happened, but I intend to ask him the next time I see him to be sure. I need to start monitoring my drinking down there. Over the years it has led to some pretty strange results.

I still managed to put on my sweats and make it to Central Park in time to join Rachel Tatellio, Tammi Hanlin and Mary McGrath for our morning run. Tammi was bubbling over Lauren Bianchi's return. That gives Tammi more time to spend at her Carnegie Hill Spa. I asked Tammi to schedule a massage for me with Jason, Eoin or Donny to work out the kinks from last night.

I happened to be sitting in a booth in the Four Seasons Supper Club last Wednesday evening when Barbara arrived and sat at the bar chatting with Shannon, Jason Maloney and eventually with Gino Caruso. Jason mentioned the missing wedding ring and laughed saying it was often just a female out on the prowl. Barb explained that her husband, Bradley, was the man recently killed buy a mugger.

Jason said he would give her a free massage at the Spa as an introductory offer. Gino laughed and said that was a "hands on freebie". Barb simply laughed asking. "What's worng with that?"

Gino laughed and said that it could be addictive. Barb quickly responded with, "Let me try that again........ what's wrong with that?"

Shannon just smiled and said that Jason has marvelous hands, a fact that I'm also quite aware of since Jason has done me numerous times over the years.

Gino and Barb chatted there for another hour but Gino declined Barb's offer to share a taxi home, claiming he lived clear over in Queens. After Barb left, Gino wound up sharing a taxi to Lord knows where when the club closed for the night.

Saturday evening was delightful. Upon making my way to the Four Seasons Supper Club bar, I found Barbara Barton and Mary McGrath already there sharing a nice Kendall-Jackson chardonnay. Barb was buying to celebrate both her acquisition of Barton Publishing and the fact that Mary was now locked up as her star romance novelist.

Gino was behind the bar whipping up the drinks, including just water for my old friend, Angel Jones. Even Seamus Clark showed up to join in the frivolities. He was drinking Jamisons Irish Whiskey and later a nice glass of Guinness, specially prepared by Gino. I'm sure those drinks jacked up Barb's tab a bit.

I had to laugh when Gino reminded Barb that you have to be careful what you offer, but Barb responded immediately with "True, never offer more than you're willing to …….. perform.

Barb, Mary and I all wound up out front waiting for a taxi when we left the Four so we decided to share one. Sensing an interest between Barb and Mary, I offered a night cap at my place and they both readily accepted. While they opened a bottle of wine from my bar, I hurriedly finished this column and faxed it in. For more information, please make sure to read next week's column.
