Last night Lt. Joe Friday of the NYPD Robbery/Homicide Division arrested Ms. Vicki Jenkins and recovered the stolen Fancy Vivid Blue diamond that was stolen from the Metropolitan Museum of Art last week.
In his Thursday morning press conference, Lt. Friday said that it was a tip that led to this arrest. Apparently, somebody managed to get photographs of Ms. Jenkins hastily leaving the museum right after the theft. The two guards on duty also provided a description of Ms. Jenkins as the woman that created all the confusion when the diamond disappeared.
That led to our NYC District Attorney, Nelle Porter, obtaining a search warrant from Judge Helen Gamble to search Ms. Jenkins' 5th floor hotel room at the Four Seasons Hotel.
Lt. Friday and CSI agent Jeff Mallard, conducting the search, stumbled right into what was no doubt a sexual affair. Ms. Jenkins was already down to her personal "Elite" designer type underwear with a man licking his lips in anticipation. The good news was she was actually wearing the stolen Vivid Blue so it was recovered on the spot. That will certainly make museum director, Charlotte York happy.
Although the police didn't identify the gentleman toying with Ms. Jenkins, I was able to come up with his name, Richard Sawyer, a local New York City agent that represents actors, actresses and models.
Ms. Jenkins hasn't selected a lawyer yet, to the best of our knowledge, and she will be arraigned today and charged with robbery before Judge Helen Gamble.
