This Week's Gossip
For a change, last Sunday morning Diego was still around when I finally woke up after our late Saturday night out on the town. He tried to make little of it but insisted that he and Furio were dropping me off and Jason Maloney would be there with Tammi, Rachel, Mary and me for our walk in Central Park. The entire city was abuzz with the fact that we have a serial killer out there again and Diego wants us protected, especially in the park where the second female was found hung up on a tree again last week.
The police are all over it, but so far have no real substantial leads. In fact, the killer is mocking them by sending a letter with a nasty poem regarding Eve being the real devil in the Garden of Eden. Diego has all of his Genovese Enterprises manpower out there daily on the streets looking for leads on where this man hides. He's sure it's another empty warehouse, but nobody knows for sure.
Lauren Bianchi, the manager of Big Apple Escorts, is warning her escorts to work in pairs and stay off the streets alone at night. She's screening every request for escorts these days, but she's now already lost both Vanessa Phillips and Heide Morgan to this relentless rapist. Three other women including Denise Jacobs, Brenda McBride and Amber Johnson are MIA, Missing In Action. She knows Denise must be either with him or already dead, because the police found her purse at the scene of Vanessa's rape and murder.
In life, certain events come along so rarely that when they do, special attention must be paid. The Haley Comet, solar eclipses, getting laid by some really hot guy! This month that special event might be the Vicki Jenkins' trial. Has she really hired Crane, Poole and Schmidt starring Alan Shore to defend her? Now there is a lawyer with tricks up his sleeve.
I understand that the trial will be held next Monday, June 16th. I'll be there in the audience along with much of the press. An insider informant tells me that Nelle Porter had Richard Sawyer in her Carnegie Hill apartment most of Saturday night grilling him as a key witness in the upcoming trial.
I understand Jason Todd Brody, the fellow Yvette cleverly calls Pilot Boy, had a recent birthday that she missed. As a result she treated him Saturday night with a surprise birthday party. Since I wasn't there, I can only assume she gave him a very nice present, or presents!! Now what might her Pilot Boy want most? Oh, let's guess. Giving up her most precious possession?
Diego doesn't want me out prowling the streets alone right now with that rapist killer still on the loose and he was busy entertaining a valuable lady friend, so I spent the evening on the internet and the phone collecting information for my column. I do hope you are enjoying the results.
Once this week's column was finished and put to bed, I spent the rest of the evening having fun in my favorite chat room.
