This Week's Gossip
After a late night chat room affair with some guy called Peter Fitzwell, I awoke last Sunday morning to hear thunder, lightning and heavy rain outside my bedroom window. Knowing Rachel wouldn't be running in that storm, I rolled over with a pillow and went back to sleep. Just a nice little dream about what might have happened had Eoin decided to stay Saturday night. Delicious!

I called Rachel when I finally did wake up and we agreed to meet downstairs for our normal brunch at the Palm Court. I picked up the August edition of InStyle magazine to read Rachel my interview with Yvette. Buy a copy, its an interesting read.

At lunch on Monday, Diego advised me that Madison "Maddie" Cirillo was back in New York City. I'm sure that will make Ben Bravio happy. I know he's missed her. Diego said Maddie had sworn him to secrecy when she suddenly left town to take care of her ailing twin sister.

Sophia Delancy had leukemia, that dreaded disease that gradually saps away their strength. They made efforts to save her but it was too late and she passed away over in Sicily with Maddie at her side. Maddie spent some time traveling to ease the pain before returning to New York City.

Sure enough the next time I saw Ben he was bubbling over, chatting away about how Maddie had spent the night with him catching up on everything. Diego plans to put Maddie back to work managing the Four Seasons next Monday.

Rachel said she received a cheerful report from Samantha Emeris from Germany this week. We're not sure when Sam will be back, but it's always nice to hear that she's enjoying her European trip.

Saturday night I was at the Four Seasons chatting with Bobby Campbell when Vicki Jenkins waltzed in. Bobby picked her up at the prison gates when she was released on August 2nd. I understand she'll be staying at Bobby's place until she can find an appropriate apartment. I should have suggested the Carnegie Hill Complex where many of us live and make use of the Carnegie Hill Spa. I noticed Bobby's fresh moustache and just had to ask if he grew that to tickle Vicki's fancy, which drew a nice laugh.

Gino was tending bar as usual and Bobby was picking up the tab. We discussed the fact that I'll be interviewing Vicki for the upcoming Elite Design ads in the September issues of several major magazines. Vicki plans to coordinate this with the Grand Opening of her Elite Designs office in Manhattan. Bobby will be one of the many celebrities she plans to invite. She actually invited me too.

Of course, Yvette will be modeling Elite Designs lingerie along with Vicki. Bobby asked me if I would be willing to model, especially since it would fit in nicely with the interview. I'm not sure whether that was a smile or a wince on Vicki's face, but we all agreed that would be a smart idea. Surely she's not jealous of me?

My mystery man, Joe Black, was the next to walk in saying he just heard the word "underwear". He said, "It's all about timing, ladies." I introduced him to Vicki and Bobby. Then Joe asked if I'd model the free underwear for him after the photo shoot. I said sure, but I still don't have a clue where he lives or even have his cell phone number.

Then who should walk in the door but Yvette. I saw her try to turn and leave when she saw Vicki there, but Bobby saw her and yelled over "Hey, Yvette, come here, we were just talking about you!" There was no way she could leave after that, so she walked over and joined us, forced to sit right beside Vicki.

I swear I could hear Vicki's teeth grind, but she put on a smile and said, "Hi Yvette, how's my number one model doing?"

I had to laugh when Yvette asked Vicki if she was drunk. Bobby said since everybody was making money now, everybody should be happy. More teeth grinding, but Vicki managed to say that they were now going to be best friends. Yvette looked both confused and terrified, "Didn't you try and steal my boyfriend a month ago?"

"What's in the past is in the past. Just shut up and smile for the photo ops, we'll BOTH benefit, got it?" was Vicki's sharp retort. Yvette said she still thought Vicki was drunk.

Meanwhile Joe was chatting me up while playing with my knee under the bar. A few jokes about speaking French transpired when Joe and Yvette spoke a few words in French back and forth.  I said the only words I knew in French were "more" and "Peter". I asked Yvette to say Peter in French so I could pick up the accent. I wound up saying Peeettaahh and Joe laughed saying we could work on some tongue exercises back at my place and escorted me out of there.

The taxi ride back to the Plaza Hotel wasn't long, but it turned out Joe knew how to maximize the twelve blocks. I wound up panting and trying to get my dress back in place as the doorman opened the taxi cab door for us. Even the elevator ride up fifteen floors was  pretty damned exciting. After Joe carried me in my apartment, he poured us drinks while I finished up this column and faxed it in to my editor.

Entertainment
This Tuesday night, August 5th at 10:00 pm ET, the Off-Broadway Creative Arts Theatre will be offering Rachel Tatellio's version of Friends - Phoebe's Friend. I'll be there in case she needs me to cover a role.
