~tears streaming down my face as I see the leftover chili one~ OMG I had a bad smell flashback of my aunt and uncle's dog Bart, the fart machine... Didn't matter what he ate that wasn't dog food, he would be sitting or laying under the table in the kitchen as the rest of us with munchies were munching on the leftovers and just a little squeak would be heard and that place cleared out all the way upstairs to safety, my grandmother lectured me and my uncle for 5 mins after that saying we weren't allowed to eat whatever we had eaten, when Bart comes in looking at us head tilted and lets one go loud and clear, the house cleared to outside with my grandma apologizing all the way... ~busts up laughing again~ I miss that dog

ok true story.......

having been a working dog handler.....the last two dogs I had were both pure breds. ( don't ask me why it just worked that way)..... german standard boxers.... now if you know anything about boxers they are notorious for having gas issues... well it was late fall..the weather at my moms house had finally turned cool. and my mom had made chili.....you know the kind made with 2pounds of those large red kidney beans.... there was about 2cup of it left in the pot after she had dipped all she could to freeze. so what does my mother the infamous grannie do..... she scraps it in the dogs bowl thinking ah it won't hurt..... they could use a treat..... well skipper got to it first and lucky for us he was the only one. around 10:45 pm the house is quiet.....kids are going to bed. ( was a weekend)......dads in his bed... skipper goes to lay in the hallway under an ac vent intake vent...my mother was coming out the bathroom when she heard what can only be described as a low pressure air leak. the next thing we hear is OMG Mary Liz what did you do to that dog..... and Dad gets up..... in his shorts... looks at my son and screams open that window boy.... then we hear everyone emptying the back of the house.... in less than two minutes... the odor of boxer on chili eases its way through the entire house which we are now abandoning..... there were 4 adults...2 kids....and 7 dogs standing outside in jammies.. and skipper just bouncing around like what....... did I do that...
