Glad to hear everyone was in good conduct after the game Space Cadette *nods lots*

OH fred....I'm glad our version won here.  That was really their version?  There is a big parade today in Chicago.
It sounds like you are on some exciting adventures there ;)
So you are going to a Halloween party as a turnip???  You must take some pics fred....lol
A turnip?  You better be careful....someone might just slice and dice you up for a dish afterwards lol

Not to worry about yesterday's disconnection.  I was just shocked and surprised to see your name in there.  Thanks!  ((((((((((((((((((((((((fred)))))))))))))))))))))))))

AND you finally got to change the page fred.....woo hoo.....I am SO happy for you ;)
Bout time....huh??? since you do most of the talking here ;) just kidding ;)

Happy Halloween!

oh kay.........

a quick story about the maid/nanny............. SHE got to go, only to the 3th grade. lived on a farm in rural area, got married and then they had one girl.  Had second child but "STATE" took it.  they had no money to survive so gave HER daughter to parents to rise so they could go to the BIGcity to make money.  They live in oneroom (with no lock on door so someone must be in room at all times). She works 10 hours day as maid/nanny and her husband is a nite watchman.  They get to go back to visit HER daughter in farm area with her parents only two (2) weeks a year. she raises others' kids while her's is being raised by her parents.   the story is not unusual but it really hits home............. HOW good we have it.   (sighs)

staying focus..................... but................

there is NO halloween where I am at but some foreigners tried to bring alittle home back to here?  the party was really for the kids (hugs 'em)  now ~hugs ya~

Take care............... I have started using the "Z-PAC" for I have somehow got a really nasty COLD, which is not unusual for foreigners here, with all the pollution and smog.
*waiting to hear your *mumbles* again*

Kindly yours,
fred

kay. I'm bushed today................(your tomorrow) that cold is having an effect on me?  continuing with Z-pak

went shopping for a new refrigerator and musical keyboard, today.....  but unsuccessful at finding right ones
movin' with the masses of humanity,,,,,,,,,, takes it outta ya...............

again trying to stay focused

ate chinese (spicy) for lunch this noon that required several BIG bottles of beer to 'put out the fire' so at dinner time tried a "subway" that definitely was NOT a subway (though it said it was and the store looked alot like a subway shop with artists making sandwiches like L used to do?)

needin a few less adventures and more relaxing time to fight this cold.............
hoping is all is well with you............... sending you this ((((((((((((((kay)))))))))))))))  fred EX

What a sad story about the maid/nanny fred.  It makes you thankful and more appreciative of what you have....ya know?  ~hugs~

It sounds like your cold is taking its toll on you fred ~big hugs~.  It sounds like you need a lil more rest and a lil less adventure to catch up there.  I'm sure the hustle and bustle there in the city is amazing and yet draining.  I think the food doesn't help either.  It's a whole different culture there....no doubt.  But what a wonderful learning journey you have right before you.
I'm SO glad you took the Z-pak with you....that should definately help!  You know what fred?  You are focused there....good boy!  :D

Now just take one day to yourself....you owe that to yourself to get better.  One day of rest and drinking plenty of fluids ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((fred))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
And then you'll be back to feeling normal again....well as normal can get?  lol
Have fun fred....continue your learning experience and enjoy.  God Bless!

With lovingkindness,
kay

kay

each day, I anxiously move about my day and attempt to find a way onto the internet to read your last POST on da board?  you're my link to my past.  this future, is NOW, and is really different as I have been noting but, my today (your future tomorrow - (in time)) is nuttin like OUR good old cup of tea in the morning and with my bestest buddy.  (((((((((((((((((((((((((kay))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I know you are following my eating treks across my trip, and this noon I found a japanese-Italian restaurant that was pretty good.  (passed a south american BBQ that I will try out later?)

here is one for you.......................hear the saying: "stiff as a board"?
well that is my back...................... stiff as a board from sleeping on a board.  "nice soft comfy  BED" ????????????  that is a foreign concept here. the harder the board, the better the bed......... went to IKEA and got a mattress padding to soften my board  (I too, finally I sanded the splinters off  my board  -- and that took care of one of my problems) you know?  the pricklier the better: saying?

Hey in you next reply on da board. let me know how you are doing?.............. anxiously awaiting to hear about the autumn leaves and colours? chilly fall mornings&evenings and how the american football games went (who won and who lost this weekend?)
HOW did PU do this past weekend.................. (our information is filter here -- like the worldseries game you corrected -- the final score on!)

taking it easy this afternoon, while I type this reply.................. but like all fish on vacation, after a few days, they all begin to stink.  wonders how my laddie is doing?  oh I wonders who wrote ................  wonderbread, wonderfully in her wonderbra O_O
(doing some mental exercises and trying to stay in shape................ for my return -- don't want to loose my mental wit and humourous edge on ya?

and who says I am rambling ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`on&on and ON and on&on.......................... now?
~hugs ya~ and I am looking for another gift (or two) for ya ..................... (ahhhhhh, give me some sizes, again?)

I guess I am rambled ON long enough to maybe turn the page?................

with lovingkindness and (a wish for you).............
fred

P.S. did go to a sunday 'secret' service in fellowship........God has blessed
P.S.s.  and how much longer do I have to continue learning from this experience?  and how much more fun do I have to have..........
oh yes....... "back to staying\ focus........ focus  FOCUS............... focus

I anxiously get on here too fred to read of your new daily adventure.  By the way you are really focusing nicely.  I am sure it's hard, but you are doing it.  Good for you ~HUGS~
I miss you too and our morning cup of tea.  Not to worry...you will never lose your wit and humor.
Some bed...huh?  lol  Actually this morning when I woke up I thought how you probably can't wait to get back and sleep in your own bed.  Then I thought of laddie and how he must miss you dearly.
He is gonna be one happy puppy on your return.  He won't leave your side for weeks to come...lol

The weather here is nice fred.  Yesterday morning we had frost, but it turned out to be a nice day in the 60s.  I grilled out in the afternoon and it was t-shirt weather with NO coats.  The sun soaked into these old bones....lol  Today will be even nicer....in the 70s....woo hoo.  Talk about grilling, bet you could go for a nice steak and baked potato right about now?  lol  We cleared out the garden yesterday.  You should see all the green peppers....man oh man.  I am making a huge pan of stuffed peppers today.  I already cut the red and gold peppers to freeze for fajitas and spaghetti sauce.  I'll have to give the neighbors some too.  We still have tomatoes.....amazing.

The leaves here are beautiful fred.....red.....gold.....orange.....yellow.....green.  There are still a lot of leaves left on the trees for this time of year.  I'm sure when you get back next week you will have an opportunity to admire them.

We set the time back an hour last night.  Guess what time I woke up this morning?  lol
AND I know you will know because you would automatically be waking up at the same time....lol
I woke up at 4 *mumbles*....well that is the usual 5.  It's funny how our systems are conditioned to get up?  *mumbles more*  However, I refused to get up at '4'....lol  One good thing about this time change is....it is lighter out in the morning.  The bad thing will be when it gets dark so early in the evening.  And wait til it gets cold?  I will be ready to become a 'snow bird' fred....hahahaha

Purdue played Penn State yesterday fred.  The last time I saw the score it was 28-7 with Penn State winning.  I don't know the end results though....laughs  The Colts play tomorrow evening.
I'll have to open up the newspaper this morning to find out about the rest....laughs

The White Sox had a huge parade on Friday.  1.75 MILLION in attendance.  When they got to LaSalle St....there was 13 tons of newspaper confetti blowing out of an air cannons.  Incredible :)
They interviewed one lil boy....he said it was 'righteously awesome'.  I thought what a big word for a lil guy....hahaha

Hey fred....you are 'righteously awesome' too ;)
I know you will be so glad to get home fred, but enjoy your last week there.  You are doing fine.
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((fred)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Here's another score for you fred....

Bears 19, Detroit 13 in OT
I just heard on the radio that Bears are now in first place?
Hmmmmmmmm they probably want a parade like the White Sox had?  lol
Oh since you missed the White Sox games....they had Steve Perry's (Journey) song "Don't Stop Believin"
as their trademark song.

The Colts have a home game on Saturday, not today  ::)  lol
Don't know what I was thinking?  Guess I wasn't....hahaha

And THANK YOU fred.....you know for what.....THANKS!  ~hugs~

This time change is for the birds fred....laughs
I woke up this morning at 3:59.....oh brother.  I'll try to go to sleep an hour later tonight.  I'm thinking though of how you will be way off when you get home and not just by an hour.  I'm just starting my day here and you are winding down there getting ready for night night soon....lol
One week down and one to go....yay ;D

Today is Halloween.  I can't wait to see the lil ones trick or treating tonight.  I'm sure there will be some big ones too.  But it's the lil ones that melt my heart.

Bye for now fred.  Take care there.  Have fun and be safe.  ((((((((((((((((((((((fred)))))))))))))))))))))
Hey how are you feeling?  I hope your cold is better.

kay

I bet you fit right in at the zoo fred with the 'zoolike' animals *nudges ya*  lol j/k

Oh man yesterday started out to be a great day just like the weekend here.  I even went out and bought more candy thinking we would have more kids than usual.  You know me, better have more than enough than not enough.  Well right before trick or treat started, it poured here.  The poor kids that did come were wet and cold.  So since they made an effort to go out, I made it worth their while.  They made out good ;)

Nothing beats a Chicago style hot dog fred!  Did you try the south american bbq yet?
I hope the SUN comes out for you sometime before you leave there.  Hmmmmmmmmm methinks we need
Texas Sunshine to send some your way.  I'm sure she has plenty.....lol  We did here before it rained.
But today is suppose to be gorgeous...so we will see.  If so, I'll try that sundance for ya....laughs

Keep the spirits up there fred.  You are doing wonderfully :)
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((fred))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Take care, have fun and make loving memories!

kay ironingday............

glad to see another beautiful day in your neighbourhood.................... and it was for me, too!
here was my weather for today: "Today: Plentiful sunshine. High 68F. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph."

again reporting from Here.............. got the new refrigerator delivered. (major event)  Also purchased our first new bike w/ training wheels and finally...... made a BIG dream come true  ~hugs ya~

Music has always been part of one's life but here. that was missing,   :'(
so.............................fred to the rescue ...............  (((((((((((((((((((((kay)))))))))))))))))))))

"A NEW portable Grand electric piano" so not just ONE can appreciate, but "ALL" to grow up appreciating music in their lives. -- a mother's wish for not just herself but for her family.

NOW my mission is DONE!
time to hit the road, fred............... I'm ready to be 'unfocused' and make my way back

but first (our daily feature of) "What is fred eating today".........   ate KFC this noon!  really. but no 3-piece w/ two sides  :-\  it tasted like chicken but........... again things are different here.........  this evening going to south american BBQ.....(yes!)........... wonders if they will have chocolate martinis and cigars?

besides the purchases, today toured the "forbidden city" and huge square.   smog was so bad.............. photos looked like from foggy londontown.

oh kay................ (sitting here now -- looking at some roses I purchased.......... this country loves it's roses, and they are everwhere)...............also wondering what you are doing?
missing our morning cup of tea and that taste of a.............................. Chicago hotdog!
and who will wash the clothes this (your wednesday?)

your bud with lovingkindness,
fred washingday

P.S. -- did I turn the page yet?  (it is the small things we enjoy, the most, in life?)

It is ironingday for kay today and washingday for you.....hahaha
YOU got the sunshine....yahoo!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh a new refrigerator, a new bike with training wheels and a piano ;D
It was like Christmas there.  How wonderful!  What great and thoughtful gifts.  May the refrigerator keep running and the piano keep humming....oh that was weird to say....lol
They will enjoy the music for years to come.....good fred ~hugs~  OH how they will love the lil bike too *nods*

HEY I had KFC yesterday at noon too....is that weird or what?  I had the 3 piece chicken strips though.  So it didn't really taste like chicken?  Are your taste buds off a lil? lol  Or maybe it's the seasoning?  It's all in the seasoning ya know....laughs  I hope your south american bbq was good!

Hey just a few more days of being focused there.  You are doing great!

AND I can't believe you didn't turn the page YET?  Ummmmmmmm maybe I will....let's post this and find out......hahaha

Take care there fred ~hugs~
